So my dad is looking at getting a new bay boat and he asked me what I knew about Epic's? To which my response was I've never heard of them. What you guys know about these boats?

Never heard of them, probably because they are primarily a ski boat manufacturer. Hate the name, but looks like a pretty sweet ride:

What does that cost and what other boats are in that price range? The question is: is that the best boat for the price point...

I don't care for it either. I told him he needs to buy a used Champion. It's what I have and I love it. But he seems stuck on somethinf brand new.

VIP

They are actually built North of Shreveport in Vivian in the old VIP plant.

There was a big hype around them a few years ago when they announced the product and future manufacturing (electric drive was their big thing).

With that being said, I have seen 1 Epic boat in NWLA in the past few years.

In all honesty it is probably better than mine as well but my boat does not claim any sort of "Epicness" so ...................

Is that place open again?

I haven't been by it in years, but the lasttime 5 or 6 years ago the gate was chained and the property was all grown up.

I thought they have been long shut down...

TClay, now that you say that, the plant on the side of 1 is definately not in operation...

Not exactly sure where these epic rigs are being built at the moment.

Naming your boat EPIC absolutely guarantees that it will have problems. It's like naming something LUCKY. You're just asking for trouble.

Our lease is not far from there, and I pass by every morning after eating breakfast at Lela's. The Epic place is back behind the old VIP plant and showroom.

I saw one in person this morning in Lafayette. I will say this, it looked better in person than in the ads in the magazines. It was a 22' with a white Suzuki 175 on the back. That's the first white Suzuki I can remember seeing.

There was one at our CCA banquet. It was huge. Looked nice though. I was surprised they only made that one giant size.

Might even come with a complimentary bag of low-grade meth coming out of the metropolis known as Vivian...

The epic bay boats are the bay stealth molds right before they went out of business
