What’s y’all favorite place to get yalls deer processed around BR? I’m looking for some good sausage and thin steaks to be made but I don’t want to spend a fortune. Something relatively cheap.

What y’all got?

None of them are going to be cheap.
Vines in Centreville is pretty good and has been around a long time.

Last year tried Indian Mound in Pride and was impressed, price was good and the smoked sausage wasn’t bad. I’d prefer Vines or Double D’s in Bogalusa normally.

I use Bergeron's on 415 for ground meat/sausage. Used to use vines in centreville, but heard you get whatever meat back they give you, the right weight, just not your meat. I like bergerons ground meat better anyway, and they are quick.

Thank god it’s not like that in NWLA

Deer 1: Brought in not gutted and not skinned. Got 10 lbs smoked sausage, 10 lbs breakfast sausage, ground, round eye steaks, backstrap butterflies and tenderloins. $151

Deer 2: quartered and backstraps in ice chest. Got ground meat, round eye steaks, & butterflied backstraps. $68

It's disturbing what it cost in NOLA area, more urban areas in general. Brought one to the place in harahan one time. Was impressed with the quality, packaging and flavor of everything. But, it wasn't cheap.

Get a meat saw. It's not that difficult.

Twaynes on 621 in prarieville did one last year for me and I was impressed. Brought in quartered and got ground meat, 50/50 smoked sausage, a roast, and tenderloins/backstrap back for about $130.

Harringtons in Winnie or Vidor is the best place I have ever had process a deer. I have yet to have anyone in Louisiana give me deer sausage to beat the one I get processed.

I'm all about trading a link if anyone around Baton Rouge thinks they can top my sausage

Over the years I always used Benoits in Addis and Bergeron's in Port Allen (I enjoy the variety of the sausage, so I use both) or Pete Giavenco in St. Rose for tamales and specialty items. Last two years I used Reno in Sorrento to do one and T Wayne to do a couple last year. Everyone of them are great to deal with, the AP places are a bit cheaper.
