It’s been a while since I’ve been in the duck hunting business so I’m not too sure. I’m trying to put a last minute going away gift for one of our Master Sergeants who likes to hunt.

Thinking about laser etching an inappropriate quote of his onto a call.

So what are some decent brands to look for? I don’t need to go all out but don’t want to give him trash either.

How much are you talking about here?

On the lower end (less than $100), you have Haydel that is a quality (and popular) brand. Buck Gardner and Faulk's are also good bargains.

On the higher end, you have RNT, Riceland, and Lares, among others.

$150 is not that expensive for a going away gift.

Dude you don't need a $100 call.

Haydel DR-85
Haydel Red Leg
Duck Commander Ole Raspy
Duck Commander Woodie
Duck Commander/Buck Gardner 6-in-1 whistle

That right there will do the job. Don't buy into the stupid hype that you need some custom $175 call to kill ducks. Unless the person receiving the gift will sleep better at night knowing they have a super expansive duck call....

Just stick with Duck Commander, Haydel, Buck Gardner, Primos and you'll have a damn good call.

RNT... several different models available, as well as wood or acrylic. also, custom laser engraving available in house, pretty much whatever you'd like, and however you'd like it. I can also help you with that should that be the direction you choose.

I have a ducklander call that I like well enough. It is nice and has custom engraving.

Although every year, after a couple of weeks I go back to my quackhead j frame...
