Dead animal smell in truck

Well, about a month ago my wife noticed some "stuffing" maybe from the seats in her truck (Tundra). I laughed it off - told her if there was a rat in there we would have known it.
Sooo, this morning she finds a dead rat in the rear floorboard. Furious at me - said I told you !
Rat was disposed of but now I have to figure out how to get rid of the smell. Don't think he was dead long but could definitely detect the smell.
Anyone have good ideas on how to get rid of this odor ? I have cleaned carpet with pet odor carpet cleaner, vacuumed and sprinkled baking soda on floors so far. Gonna check in the morning to see where we are. Smell not gone yet but better, so need to know what else I can do for this.
Any good ideas ?

My wife wouldn’t care what I do to get rid of the smell. We’d be getting a new car.

I used my ozonics to rid my truck from my pals vomit smell

Didn’t think about ozone - thanks. Think the generators aren’t that expensive. Might work. And to other poster, yeah I expect the new truck argument to arise if I don’t get this fixed quickly.
Thanks for the replies and open to any other ideas

Sprinkle the inside with coffee grounds. Let it sit for a couple of hours and vacuum up the grounds. Repeat if there is still a smell.

Yes coffee grounds and vanilla

Actually ordered one similar to that. Was about the same price and delivery tomorrow. Shouldn’t have to run it long in a truck I guess ? Maybe try about 15 minutes and repeat if necessary?

If it's near the same output probably won't need long. Like I said this works on a whole house.

Take it to a detail shop and have them shampoo the carpets

Best thing you could have done was set a baited snap trap as soon as she brought the "stuffing" from the seats being chewed up to your attention.
I've owned a lot of vehicles in my life and never had that happen so it had to be some sort of critter doing it.

I had a single cab little truck with no a/c and would leave the windows down during the summer most of the time. Several times the inside got wet by unexpected showers.
Dryer sheets helped with the smell.

I had the same thing happen in my Tundra.
I covered the area with plenty of baking soda and let it sit for a week or so. Then vacuumed.
It still took about a month for the smell to completely go away.

I don't have your answer, but when i was probably 10 we dropped off my dad's truck on a friday to get worked on. Guy got to it probably mid the next week. Never said anything. It smelled like a body pit in somalia. My dad was furious with the guy. However, the flies led us under the seat where we discovered when we were crawfishing the week before we had kicked a pack of beef melts under the seat.

First, put a bowl of charcoal on the floorboard of the back seat.
Second, check with one of those DIY pest control places. They sell bottles of this high concentrated deodorizer stuff in various scents. I know this because I had a rat die in a wall. Once it sits there for a couple of days, that smell will last for a while. You dip a cotton ball in that deodorizer and set it behind the seats and it will cover the scent until its gone.
