Recently graduated and moved back home. My lab has gone from inside to outside over night, she's adjusting well but I can't seem to keep her cool. Never had this problem so let me lay out what i've done so far and if ya'll have any suggestions let me know.

10x10 kennel,
Under shade trees, shaded 90% of the day,
4 gallon water dispenser,
Portable kennel for now until I can build a house.

Are there any other tricks you guys use beside misting units or pools of water? I've looked online and haven't found anything that just sticks out.

I'm at work from 5-3 everyday and cant really monitor her in these 100 degree days and her coming in the AC isn't going to happen.

She'll be just fine. LOTS of dogs live their lives in the sun in south LA. If you're really that worried, put a wash tub full of water in her kennel.

Put her a kiddy pool in there. She can cool off that way

actually yes, id just have to run some extension cords. She's on the back corner of about a 2 acre lot. If it comes to that, i'll run a fan out there.

Dogs are tough and have a very good tolerance for heat. She'll be just fine man.

I know they are. She's in the hilton compared to most mutts. Just thought i'd ask, trying to take care of side kick.

Don't know if labs need special treatment, but we've kept our walkers, black & tans, and beagle deer hounds in kennels all summer for years with no problems with just a bowl of water and a bowl of food.

Get her a metal wash tub full of water. She'll love it. The plastic kiddie pool thing is a good idea if she isn't destructive. If she is you'll have confetti in two days.

All my dogs have been outside dogs. Most of the time they go lay down under the barn or horse trailer. I think it's the bare ground that they like with the shade. Get a metal tub from the feed store and keep it full. My German Shepard would go stand in the water troughs.
