Can a good blood dog/tracking dog recover a deer in the rain? My son shot a nice buck this afternoon in a steady light to moderate rain. Found a couple of spots of blood at the shot sight, but cant find anything else. Currently waiting on a call back from a dog handler...Update: didnt find it. Dogs never really hit on anything. Blood at shot sight was washed away, never found anything else

Yes, but I would get one on it sooner rather than later.

Have a dog on the way. Hopefully it can pick up something. But kinda worried as it's raining a little bit harder

Yes.

If he made a good shot, the deer is dead within 100 yards. You can find it with a grid search.

Absolutely. If it's a light rain, the dogs seem to do better than bone dry

Yes, a light rain is fine. Let us know the outcome.
