Jeanette L Hall was a pro staffer for Cabela’s until this year. She has decided to no longer with the company for many reasons, but one in particular is very troubling. Jeanette was informed in an email that she was no longer allowed to post pictures of her hunts from Africa. Since Cabela’s merged with Bass Pro Shops they have become the largest hunting retailer by an extremely large margin. It seems they are caving to political correctness pressure.

Somehow this is Dick's fault.

Cabela’s was so much better than Bass Pro. I hated seeing them merge.

More PC nonsense.

Cabelas is significantly worse since the merger. Seems like they never have what I am looking for in there anymore

I agree. Went there for the first time in a while a few weeks ago. It was filled with cheap Chinese shite like BassPro has. Also getting rid of name brands and implementing the Johnny Morris BS for all their fishing stuff will not bode well for them in my opinion.

I haven't been to Cabelas since the merger but I would easily bet this is true. Cabelas always seemed to be a step up in quality over Bass Pro.

This is one of my biggest gripes about Bass Pro. I check their website for a product to see if they handle it and then when I go into the store, they seem to not stock it in store 90% of the time. I've been in at least 8+ times in the last 2 years where I got the same response from the employees: "Well, we can't stock everything on the website, but we can order it for you." I KNOW you can order it. I can operate the internet that well myself.

Oh, and their sales people are just about as clueless as the Walmart and Home Depot people.

I used to get everything from cabelas. That place sucks arse now and I dont go anymore unless I'm desperate for something. Cabelas had awesome store brand clothes and camping stuff before and it's all been replaced with bass pros shitty overpriced redhead junk. I go out of my way to Bowie's or academy or something now.

Apparently you can't because the website has a tool that will tell you if it is stocked in the store before you go.

Have you ever used that "tool" or similar ones at other stores. They are extremely unreliable. I have used it. Just about everything I check on says "low stock". And then you get the "Oh that stock feature doesn't update very often".

Also, if I am willing to go to a store to get something, it usually means I would like to possess it at that time. If I'm willing to wait the time to have it ordered, I would simply do that from where ever I am.

Bottom line is that Bass Pro is turning into another Walmart clone.

There are a lot of deer hunters who look down on that sort of thing, I know a few. I guess they are trying to spare themselves from association with a Facebook nightmare because cindy pro staffer killed a neck horse and posted pics of it

The new cabelas branded stuff now is the same as shitty redhead. Bought some redhead boots about 15 yrs ago and they didn't last one season of hard hunting. Noticed the couple of times I went down to the Gonzales store, that the quality of cabelas branded stuff has tanked. Unless they are having a sale on actual name brand stuff, forget em.

Regardless of how one feels about Cabela's or Bass Pro, posting pics on social media is just Ð!¢{ waving anyway. I'm not sure why one would feel compelled to brag that way. But that's just my opinion on it.
