I want it to be full size and 9 mm.

Looking at the H&K VP9.

What other comparable options do you recommend?

My wife has 2 and loves them. She shot multiple other pistols, including my Glock 17 and sig 320. She liked the VP9 the most.

Walther PDP-F series. The "F" is for female. It has a thinner grip that other full size pistols.

With revolutionary ergonomics, reduced trigger reach, reduced grip circumference, and reduced force necessary to operate the slide and you truly have the perfect tool for those with smaller hands.

Let the gun pick her, not you pick the gun. She’s got to shoot or at least hold as many as she can. You might find that full size is too big, or it could be just right.

Full size 9mm semi auto is a great start.

From there let her pick it out.

Any of your $500+ range polymer pistols are all pretty darn good and you really come down to personal preference.

Second this option. Just bought one for my esposa. She has several different handguns from a Glock 19 down to a Glock 42 and a Sig 230; her favorite in her hands gun is the Sig, however, for a full size (compact) gun, she is shooting lights out with the Walther PDP F.

Been teaching CC classes for a while now and my wife's VP9 is easily the favorite for females (and some of the men too). Great ergonomics, easy to rack, good sight picture, and soft recoil. Hard to go wrong.

Confirm the wife likes the feel and roll with it. Then practice practice practice!

I've got a Beretta Brigadier 92 that has gone through several classes with high marks, but the VP9 is a winner.

Bought wifey(no pics) Ruger LCP .380 w/laser. She is proficient with it, and I wouldn’t want her shooting at me with it…

I have a VP9 that I love. One great thing about it that your wife will appreciate but my not be able test use the interchangeable grips on the gun. You can make it thinner for her hands.
Didn’t see it mentioned so I wanted to point that out.

Look at a Canik TP9SA (cheaper) or TP9SFX. Great feel and function and price too.

Don’t know about your wife, but I fired a VP9 a couple of weeks ago, and I loved it. Nice trigger.
