Hi all.
Just wondering, who's been over here to the UK for ducks, geese, woodcock, pheasant etc?

What do you shoot them with? Slingshot?

Is this an invite? I'd be down

I have heard it is incredible, never been. I don't even want to think what that trip would cost...

I just want to know how hard it would be to bring my dog over

No dog for the shooter on a driven shoot, you draw spots to hunt, have a loader and just shoot.

How do they kill any birds without camo, beards and face paint?

Apparently they didn’t buy into the marketing hype yet.

Ducks and pheasant is awesome in Northern England and Scotland. Can tell you that there are no limits on ducks and no requirement to stop shooting after sunset. Did an afternoon hunt one and it was pretty cold. Thought it was going to be an hour and a half hunt but we stayed over 3 hours and were shooting ducks by moonlight. Froze my arse off. 4 of us handover 90 ducks.
Pheasant is great. They do drives, standing hiunts , and walking hunts in a more formal setting where folks are in blazers. Stop for a proper lunch and a drink or two then go back out. A much more fun hunt is to get with the gamekeeper and bring one person with you to hunt. You can walk the fringe areas where they don’t take groups. Fast action.
In Scotland you can shoot a lot of pheasant but you are only allowed to keep a single brace per person...I think it was 2 each. A processor comes by and picks up the remaining g birds and they are cleaned and sold in markets.

I have been on some driven pheasant hunts in England. Just like Wickowick's pics. On good drives you can shoot a couple dozen. They shoot roosters and hens. Incredible experience.

Been red deer hunting in Alsace, a friend of mine’s folks have a lodge up in the Vosges. Those suckers get massive.
