Bream w/out live bait

The more I fish for The White Perch, the more bream I catch on jigs. About to go camping for 4 days at a bream wonderland with the moon nearly perfect. If I find them, and I will find them, is there really a reason to fool with crickets? Maybe downsize my crappie jigs?

If you cant catch them on tube jigs, then yes use crickets.

I've caught them plenty of times on nothing but a beetle spin, but there is just something about bream fishing with a cork and crickets that I will always enjoy.

Love watching my bobber go under. May rig a tiny jig under cork like I do with The White Perch.

I have caught them on those chartreuse crappie bites.

Big bluegills will smash a Heddon Teeny torpedo! Frog color with the yellow belly works well for me.
Crickets are money on bluegills though!

the cutie spin is pretty good too
rapala floating minnow is a ton of fun too.
and big bream on a small popper and 4 wt fly rod are fantastically fun.

you can catch a bunch of bream on one Gulp cricket and you don't have to worry about them dying.
I don't have bait stores anywhere around me and I keep a pretty good supply of them so I can go fishing on a whim.

Fishing for bream with a fly rod is a ton of fun. Also, you get the random bass and catfish too. A good sized catfish on a fly rod can fill up a few minutes of time.

I have a 2wt flyrod that I pretty much only use for bream fishing. I've hooked a few bass upwards of 2 lbs on it. A 2lbs bass on a 2wt is something everyone needs to experience once. It's a 5-10minute ordeal and they feel more like a 20lbs bullred than a 2lbs bass.

I've caught a good bit on triple tails rigged like a beetle spin

took forever to get it in and it was an absoluter blast
