I used it when I was a teenager 14-15 in the early 80s until my mom found out and went ape shite. I had that stuff for a long time before I threw it out. I know guys that still use it, but they won't hunt over corn. But they shoot fixed blades and they realize how unreliable they are.

Have you ever seen a doe running through the woods with 6 arrow sticking out of her, none lethal hits, with three teenagers chasing after her. I have. Not a pretty site.
so the pod woulda made this scene all better?

The other part of that was that back then arrow pass throughs were rare and the blood trails were weak.

So i am still wondering if it is safe to eat an animal that has been hit with poison pods...?

i might have an associate that has offered to give a certain someone some to go huntin in a certain area where it is 100% legal........

The pod would have eliminated the chase scene.

Didnt read all the pages, so it may have been discussed.

Tara Wildlife in Vicksburg encourages the use of a pod. If I remember it was $5 each rigged. They also encourage you to shoot the deer in arse because of whatever artery is in there! Very few animals are lost with a pod and you need to only cut a small portion of the meet out.

so its more ethical to not allow nature to nature. frick, if deer survives, he won. Just because man doesn't eat meat of dead deer doesn't mean NATURE won't so its not "wasted".

you arent really making an argument with the "nature" point of view. you are probably using a compound bow with let off, mechanical broadheads, bait, rifles, etc. i dont use pods, but i dont care if others do. if you want to follow the nature roll, go kill all of your deer with a wooden spear

I was just thinking about that. Bow technology has come a long way in my 28 years of bow hunting.

if your theory is that the deer meat is wasted, the statement is false. absolutely false. Deer die and is consumed by nature all the time.

There is a place in Colorado whee you shoot a bull elk with a tranquilizer gun. Go take a picture with it, cut off the antlers and mount them on a cow if you choose. Ethical yes. Sporting? Don't know.

i dont have a "theory" on it. i dont care what others hunters do as long as they dont interfere with me. honestly, most bow hunters out there cant get deer close enough without spooking in fair chase woods to have it matter. im not seeing where you are coming from with this, other than whining about someone else killing a deer.

I'm not whining about him killing the deer but my opinion is of that with today's technology... the use of the poison pods is pretty extremely unethical and pretty fricking pussified.

Do you use a stand? Giving you unfair avantage. Either go caveman or use modern advantages. Everyone has their own level of sportsmanship when it comes to hunting.
