Biloxi boat show prices of boats are crazy

Just came back from the boat show and the prices for boats are outrageous.
A common 22 to 24 foot bay boat with a average 200 horsepower Yamaha will run you 50 to 60 grand.
They had a 24-foot blackjack loaded out with a 300 Suzuki for 79k. I guess that was the deal the day LOL
It must be a lot of Ballers out there to afford some of these prices

Way too many people buy things according to what they can pay per month as opposed to just focusing on the price of it. Add that to TEN YEAR loans on a frigging boat and it becomes much more clear as to why these boat prices are so damned high.

Welcome to the era of $400 ice chests and $50k pickups.
Everything going up except paychecks.

TEN YEAR
I walked around the boat show all day and nearly all the financing break downs were in 20 year terms. I shite you not.

Unfortunately that is today’s bay boat market, go see the ones in S La later this month and next, will be the same.
Mid tier 22 foot bay boat, 50s and 60s, many with out trolling motor, power pole, gps, etc. so once equipped how you’d want and adding taxes you’re in 70s!!
24 footer similarly equipped? Low to mid 80s all day long out the door. I’m talking from my own research a year ago with brands like Blazer, nautic Star, Sportsman, etc

I’m going today but more just to have something to do and get out with the wife and kid. I’m buying a bay boat in the near future. I’ve found some good deals on nice boats only a couple years old on boat trader and Craigslist. Low 30s for 22 footers with all the upgrades. I’ve decided to go that route I’m just not quite ready to pull the trigger. Working a few things out.

Yep, Sitka probably made the seat covers. Doesn't matter what it comes with just so long as it cost more than my neighbors boat. $400 ice chest, $500 rain suits, $1800 remote deploying anchors, companies have figured out that some idiots will buy something just because everyone else thinks it's ridiculously expensive. My last boat cost more than my first house but my GPS screen is larger than my TV was.

I spoke to one of the reps and the monthly figure was a 12 year loan. He said they would go up as high as 20 years on an expensive boat. I couldn't imaging signing a 20 year finance agreement on a boat. I just bought an office building on a shorter term.

And I'm sittin here trying to find a mud boat for $5k.

These are actually legit and do actually help you catch more fish. The rest of the junk, yeah no idea.
I love how they put $3,000 of electronics on them with 12 inch screens when most of the time I can stick my pole in the water and touch the bottom.

I didn't realize Bj made a 24' boat.

They don’t, but they make a 256 that’s fine as frog hair. My son wanted a pic with it at the boat show and I told him that would be the only way he was getting pics with it.

And to think, boat show prices used to be why I went. I picked up a 21' Wellcraft w/ Yamaha 150 for 20 flat at the NOLA boat show in 04.

How much for a boat, motor, and steering wheel?

I don’t think this was brought up in the last crazy boat prices thread. For fiberglass guys, these crazy prices have to be great. I’ve always been told that soft floors and transoms aren’t worth fooling with and you should just buy another. As expensive as the new boats are, you could justify a lot of refitting on an old boat. Just a thought.

It’s amazing how many bass boats have the need for two of them fishing lakes where 90% of the water is over 10 feet deep yet fifteen years ago you probably wouldn’t find a bass angler that carried an anchor even in the marsh. Nobody buys something they have no need for but they can create a need if they think it’ll impress their peers. Like a $400 icechest to make a $2 bag of ice last a week after their beer runs out.

Oh ok. I got one of those already.

Just hold out for about a year. If rates keep rising there will be plenty in the used boat market and prices will crumble from people just trying to get out from under their 15 year loans
