Just browsing dream options. Looking for what best value cc bay boat brands most likely of 22' variety... 175-200 ish hp.
Been really digging the blue wave 220 pure bay models. Those mostly in low ish mid 40's brand new. What else shall I be looking at?

Anybody have opinions on the Sportsman brand? Seem to be a good bang for the buck

Get a custom aluminum at that price range.

I liked Sportsman so much sitting next to the Purebays, the Sportsman 214 Tournament is top of my list. Show price with 200 was right at 40. Only nagative I saw was integrated Simrad. Best fit and finish for boats under $50k. Their Masters series is within price range too.
I had a Sportsman 214 Tourney all but on order for 2018 until I decided to have another kid instead.

Im a Lowrance fanboy and with Sportsman you are handcuffed with Simrad.
I dont know if the Masters are a step up but the options and length go further if I remember correctly.

Let's see....
Blue wave 2200 pure bay is high $50k once equipped with 200hp trolling motor GPS and so on. I have quotes from last year.
Sportsman masters has an odd layout IMO and it is a deeper V offshore style boat.
The sportsman 23 tournament is a bad arse bay boat. With a 250 sho and loaded it was the same price as a 2200 pure bay. Downside is simrad
I saw sportsman website had a new line of bay boats since I looked last year but haven't looked into them much.
Blazer bay is a solid boat but in the upper mid tier on pricing. It is the old Bill Kenner (now k2 marine) hull.
I ended up with a K2 frontier 2104 in the mid $40s loaded out. 10k less than the pure bay even with more features. You can get one for upper 30s with a 150hp and lesser features.
It has the same LOA beam and weight hull as the 2200 PB but with a deeper V and IMO better layout. I love the boat. Nothing bad to say about it.
Simrad sucks. Same software as lowrance but on cheaper platform. Local dealer doesnt talk highly about them
Oh forgot to add. Check bilge/pump access on boats. The PB and my frontier have shitty access. I dread the day a pump goes out. The 23 sportsman tournament had great bilge access.
A 150 on my hull or a 2200 PB would be underpowered. I know some guys won't think so but that's a different discussion.
My buddies 23 tournament does mid 50s with a regular 250 yammy

I have a key West. I think it's the same guy building sportsman. It's been excellent.

I almost ended up with this last year but decided to not pull out and poof, second kid.
I found one in Alabama for around 22k brand new. only thing is I don't like the swim platform. ive already got a spare trolling motor in my shed so would only need to put dual powerpoles. but I alost don't need a stupid fancy boat like most people get now.

Nautic Star. Check em out

Lowrance and Simrad are both owned by Navico, and Simrad units operate much faster than Lowrance units. Not sure why you consider that a “downside” hah.

As papa pogey said, check out the nautic stars. I love my 224xts. Paid 51k with upgrades of 200yamaha, troll motor, lowrance hds gen 3 9”, power pole and jack plate.

Hard to beat a 22' Pathfinder. If you are dead set on buying new they might be north of your price range. I would not hesitate to buy a used hull.
I don't know why the Simrad hate. I think they are the best electronics made.

I’m on a big arse brand new workboat now. It’s got simrad stuff on it.
