I have a mock turtleneck under armor shirt that is 4-5 years old and will sweat me out. I have no idea if the quality is still the same

I don't tolerate the cold well. I wear smart wool nst 250 and under armour 2.0 on top when it gets in the 30s

Merino wool base layers are the way to go. Lightweight, warm, breathable, naturally antimicrobial and retains warmth when wet. 150 weight for early season, 200 weight for later season, 250+ if you're dealing with sub freezing temps and sitting still.

Magellan (Academy) makes a cheap 3 pack base layer that is incredibly comfortable and best of all, adjustable to temp and activity. The lightweight base is poly/spandex, the middleweight base is also poly/spandex, and the heavyweight is fleece. Even with all 3 combined I can wear my normal gear over them. I shed the bases off as temps rise. I actually prefer to stack bases and wear lighter/thinner jacket. I can not wear the 3 together with a thin windbreaker unless it's under 30 degrees.
I don't sit in deer stand but it's been more than adequate sitting in a kayak with wind cutting across the marsh and temps in mid-20's.
I can't find link online, you can buy the tops separately or in a 3 pack for ~$30-$40. There are several different ones so be sure to look at the label, you don't want cotton.

Been using Under Armour for 10 years will not hunt the cold without them.
Regardless of how bitter cold it gets all I ever wear duck hunting is an Under Armour mock turtleneck cold gear, a micro fleece pullover, and a light weight windproof and water resistant jacket.
