Looking for a new hunting light. Price really isn't an issue. I'm currently stuck on the Streamlight Stinger 2020. It's small enough to slide in pocket. 2,000 lumen high beam for 2 hours, 850 lumen medium for 4 hours, or 100 lumen low for 24 hours. So it's small, crazy bright when needed and lasts a long time if using low light. Anyone have this model or recommend one they think is better?

Fenix

This Fenix looks like a good choice as well. I want something good quality and bright. I have cheaper red led lights I can use walking in to stand. Most of the time I don't need a light walking in. Light will be used for blood trailing deer and maybe spotting hogs in our fields when we don't have thermals with us.

I like something that's rechargeable that works for 95% of the time, but allows me to replace the rechargeable 18650 battery with 2 CR123A's if I'm trailing a deer or in a bind. I keep 6 of those in my pack in a waterproof case. I have a nitecore, but there are other brands that may be better.

I have the Nitecore TM9k

Battery Junction link

It is the smallest and brightest flashlight I've ever seen.
Output / Runtimes:
Turbo: 9500 Lumens / Burst
High: 1900 Lumens / 3 Hours
Medium: 460 Lumens / 4 Hours 30 Minutes
Low: 130 Lumens / 14 Hours
Ultra Low: 30 Lumens / 60 Hours

It is a small light as well:
Dimensions:
Length: 4.92 Inches (125mm)
Head Size: 1.57 (40mm)
Weight: 7.68 (218g)

The only downside I have with it is that it is a sealed light. You cannot change the battery.

Any decent hunting light has to use AA batteries, no?

I have the Streamlight Stinger and it's a quality flashlight. I don't use it often though.

I have a Streamlight headlamp and use that almost exclusively.

I've been pretty happy with my streamlite protac HL. Only complaint is the stupid 123 batteries.

Why not?

I have a craftsman headlight that uses 3 AAA's. 450 lumens. I don't want anything else.

Because a good hunting light does not need to be restricted to only AA.

I will carry spare batteries to any light I have or a battery pack to charge if needed.

I've switched to headlamps. I have one that changes from red, blue, green and white lights. Best to have the light on your head while keeping hands free to deal with everything else.

If you're determined to have a handheld flashlight, go with a rechargeable light with an 18650 battery. I keep both in a pack that I take with me every time I go hunting.

Lately I like petzel headlamps. They're not bright enough for coon hunting or anything but they check every other box for me. Light, compact, bright enough for everything I do with it. Its nice to have your hands free.

The best one I have is the one that is always left at home....

Don't buy into the various theories about LED color effecting nigh vision....there is no science behind it.

QBeam, plus hauling around a 12 volt battery is a great workout.
