Indeed, I was quoted $2150 the other day for a set of 35x12.5R20 Toyo Open Country MTs.

Your gonna regret that purchase at about 35K miles sorry man. But they are really soft and wear fast. Shop by me had a dealer pushing them for a bit and he finally quit selling LS R/T simply because of wear.

I've put over 60K plus on BFG KO2's twice loved them!! I recently swapped to the BFG KM3's and man they are great, touch more aggression and I'm 30K in and zero visible wear across the tread and very little overall wear at all. extremely impressed. I feel they will go 60k + as well.

Anyone hearing that because of the Covid shutdowns, tire production fell behind; which caused manufacturers to reach into their ‘rubber aging process’ supply. Tires are not being allowed to age properly and therefore will not last as long. Are car/truck tires aged to allow the rubber cure?

Was told this by a farmer. They were seeing tractor tires lasting 1/2 as long.

What tire size were you shopping for?

You may be right.... Dealership I'm using stands behind their product and I've used them for years. If that's the case they will make it right... plus if I can get 35K out of them I'll likely be trading it in on something newer by then anyway.

Just bought some Cooper Discoverer A/T's from Wal Mart at $124/tire, 275/55/20's. They have since gone up to $180/tire (Thanks Brandon!!), but still a decent deal for a tire that size. These are replacing Michelin LTX's that came stock on my 2018 F150, and so far I like them. Road noise is almost non-existent, slight bit more than the Michelin's. Fuel economy is down about 1 mpg. Haven't had them off road yet, but I think they'll do fine.

That is an expensive size in any tire. Part of the reason I switched to 275/60r20. Little taller and narrower than the 285/55.

I see a lot of people suggesting the Cooper AT3 XLTs. I have those now and from the sounds of it must've gotten a bad set. I've gotten 3 or 4 alignments from a couple different shops and just getting terrible wear on them. I think I have a little under 20k miles on them and one pair are definitely over half gone (I missed a rotation). I was thinking about going with the Toyo AT3s next time. I dont need a load E tire for my uses.

Just bought a Ranger and these are the tires that came on the truck. Really like them so far. Truck only has 7,000 miles on them

I tried to find a set of Yoko Geolander X for my Silverado 2500 in September and couldn’t find a set anywhere. Settled on some Kanati trail hogs. They aren’t terrible for a $1200 set. I have about 10K on them so far with no complaints. Once they wear out I’ll get the Geolanders.

Just bought a set of Falken AT3’s. Ride good on road with minimal road noise & look great. I haven’t taken off-road yet, but the on road is a win thus far

Ended up with M/T versions. Really like them... definitely more road humm than the A/t but that was expected. They seem to ride good so far. I'll try to remember to post an update after they have some miles on them.

Dodge dealerships are currently running this special:
You don't need to drive a Ram truck to get the deal.
I just put a set of BFG Mud Terrain KM3's on my truck and saved $400.

This is what I did last year on a set of KO2's and after trade-in on the stock set of tires, it was $900 for mount and balance. The lady at the dealership told me they run this deal twice a year--usually from President's Day through 3/31 and then again sometime in the fall. This is the only route I'll use when purchasing tires from now on. Also, get the road hazard warranty. I'm at about 12,000 miles and hardly notice any wear running them at about 40 PSI. This is on a Ram 1500.

I'm partial to BFG. All of our vehicles have them, and my old truck probably has 16,000 on some KM3's and they have worn very well. Most of my driving is on gravel or dirt with those. I don't put many miles on that truck--maybe 6,000 or so a year. Hoping to get at least 40,000 out of them, given the road conditions.

I will also jump in on the KO2s.
I have no idea how they compare on the front end for costs but they last a long time. 80K miles no problem. I’ve bought 2 sets of other tires in that span before.

My $.02: I have had the BFG, very good, got 60K. Coopers are poo - would never buy Cooper again. Most recently put Pirelli Scorpion A/T's on from Sam's (full set under $700 installed, lifetime rotation). 275/55/20. I gotta tell ya, I have never had a set of A/T's that have held the edges better (no rounding on front yet, 7000 miles. I like em a lot for just a good look and mildly aggressive tread.
