Except for the cost, that sounds like a winner. I've been waiting on a M&P Shield but might look for one of those instead.

I've never seen one anywhere. Might have to do some research.

I promise you won't be disappointed. I would buy one for every $650 I had to piss away. Unfortunately, I can't even buy half of one.

ETA: I'm on mobile so it'd be difficult for me to find, but I think Colt has a dealer locator on their website.

The colt mustang and sig 238 are the exact same design. Colt's patent ran out after a certain amount of time and sig decided to make one themselves.

If you take a slide off a sig 238, it will fit on a colt mustang frame. They are the same design, but with different finishes and features.

I don't see how their reliability would be much different if they're the same design.

Only one i have out of those is the Ruger LCP. Great gun IMO. Can't even tell it is in your pocket and not bad to shoot.

Not going to say I know exactly why, but the Colts always had reliability issues, but not so with the Sig. I imagine they learned a thing or two about them and worked to improve it before they went forward with making them.

Honest question: how is the Colt 3 oz. lighter?

Of the ones you mentioned, I had a LCP and sold it.

+1

I got rid of that POS as soon as I could. I went to buy the Sig P238 but left with the P938. It is a great shooter. Buy the Sig and don't look back.

Surprised no one mentioned the Bodyguard

When I first read about the Bodyguard I thought it was the perfect carry pistol. But the trigger pull is so bad you only want to shoot it if your life depends on it. Whereas the Sig p238 and some others mentioned are actually decent shooting little guns. I still might get it one day but it's down the list.

I have a Ruger LCP and a Kahr P380.
I really like the LCP, but I love and carry the P380.
Better fit and finish in my honest opinion, and has better sights.

I vote Ruger or Kahr.

I agree the P238 is more enjoyable to shoot, but it isn't as useful for pocket carry and has the typical Sig combo of high price and declining quality (and I'm a Sig guy).

Put bluntly, I'm not putting any fun time into a small .380 anyway.

What say you. I haven't shot any of them, but

Of the guns mentioned, the only one I have is the Kel-Tec. I'll give you a "split decision" answer. I think the Sig (or the Colt Mustang) is the highest quality 380 of the ones you mentioned. OTOH, I have personal misgivings using the Sig as a pocket gun. I don't like the external hammer and external safety lever (something extra to snag on). I think a gun like the 238 should be carried cocked and locked. From a safety standpoint, I worry about the external safety lever getting disengaged in the pocket. Unlike most pocket 380's, the Sig has a nice, light single action trigger. Exposed safety lever carried in a pocket + light single action trigger sounds like a higher than usual potential for an inadvertent discharge.

If I was presently in the market for a pocket 380, I'd wait a few months and see how the Kahr CW380 turns out. I've been pleased w/ my KT, but in the long run, I suspect I'd be more happy w/ the CW380....if it turns out to be as good a gun as my CW45 has been.
