Interested in buying the a400. I love the looks of the wood, but the durability of the synthetic is a nice option. I hunt maybe twice a year if I’m lucky. I see this more as a long term investment.

Just get the wood then. It definitely looks nicer.

either way you will not be disappointed.
I have had and hunted with the new Browning A5, SBE3 and now the A400.

Its like driving a corvette, I gave my A5 to my father and sold the SBE3

I bought the wood A300 a few years ago. I love it. But I also have a Benelli Nova 3.5" in synthetic. I call the Nova my "rain gun". If I expect bad weather, I bring the Nova. If it isn't supposed to rain, I bring the A300.

A buddy in our hunting group just bought a SBE3. It is pretty sweet.

Everybody else shoots A400's and 2 guys have the A400 Plus. I love the A400 Plus but I will say the SBE3 does shoulder well and it hasn't started jamming yet. Back on topic, OP get the wood if you aren't going to be slogging around in a boat or duck blind.

Wood. High end shotguns have the wood well sealed and protected.

I think the A400 uses a polymer-stabilized wood treatment that increases durability. I have an A400 Xplor KO, wood has a very hard finish to it.

I have the black synthetic and can say it is the best duck and goose gun I have ever shot.

Very little recoil - handles all loads - the only negative is carbon build up - take time to clean it properly and the gun will be a long lasting firearm that will be of the highest quality.

I got the wood version the year the gun came out. I hunt with it a lot for small game and ducks. The woods looks better and better with age. I don't rice fields though. I would get the synthetic if that is your main type of hunting.

My benelli has a wood stock that has been extremely durable. Great stuff.

I have shot quite a few tournaments in the rain - it has never had any effect on the finish of the wood on my A400's.

I did buy one with the synthetic stock for one of my grandsons - I think it is called the A400 Xtreme Plus. But that was just to get the camo wrap (made it a much nicer gift for a 13 year old kid).

How do you hunt? If you hunt in an agricultural field get the wood. You will rarely get it wet. If you hunt in the swamp /marsh and it requires any sort of boat ride get the syn stock.
