Went for a full week last week. Rented a cabin on private land about 6 miles out of Jasper Arkansas. We caught the fall foulage change perfect. We hiked a total of 16 miles and fished off and on.
Bald Eagle flying with a large quadruped. His wing span was from the yellow line to the white line.

The Buffalo River

Some bluffs on the river.

A small bream. That water is about 10' deep next to the log and you can see the bottom.

We hiked to the Gloryhole.....LMAO!

Foulage Change at The Arkansas Grand Canyon

Fishing. The water was low and we found this spot and caught several redeye bass. Well.......my wife did.

Hiked to the Buzzard Roost. This was freaking awesome! Several caves and turtle back rocks to play on.

Gods country. Beautiful pictures thanks for sharing. My kids (6, 9, 13) are Florida raised on the beach. Headed up to mom and dads place on Greers Ferry Lake next week and gonna blow their minds with all my old hiking spots. Excited as a dad can be to show ‘em where I grew up.

I'm headed there this weekend. Will likely backpack down from the Centerpoint trail head.

I recognize the Glory Hole. Where were the photos of the slot canyon taken?

That's at the Buzzard Roost trail. They're at the bottom of the Turtle back rocks.

Glory hole is really cool after a rain. The colors only stuck around for about 10 days due to windy conditions.

Looking through your old posts it appears that you stayed at my parents place south of Jasper a while back. My wife and I actually got married there

That’s some damn beautiful pictures. That picture of the eagle almost looks like an eagle carrying something that’s carrying something else

I stayed in the Ozarks one summer in college. Plenty of eager beavers to be found.

Nice pictures.

It's hard to believe Arkansas is only 1 state away.

Deer. I got approval from my boss to move out that way but the wife isn't ready to be out there full time yet

Every time my wife and I go, we are on the lookout for land or the right home or cabin. We go 3 or 4 times a year.

I just googled Jasper, AR and one thing that comes up is that it has a crime score of D. Is there a lot of crime in that area? Also says it's in a dry county.

Yeah it is still one of several dry counties in AR. Unfortunately the rural part of the Ozarks are hard hit with substance abuse so property crime is not uncommon

Thought the first picture was a gargoyle or chupacabra. Very beautiful state and so close to Texas and Louisiana.
