I went to camp this weekend looking for sheds. Came across two fresh scrapes, so I’m sure there’s some bucks still sparring.

I still have bucks with antlers in Livingston Parish, LA. I had pics of a 4pt chasing a doe at the end of February. No wonder I was still seeing spots on fawns in November.

The bucks at my lease in Arkansas usually all done shedding by the first week of January, this year for some reason it delayed into mid February. I think combination of weather and too many does had an effect.

They tussle almost year round. I have pics of them always locking up or at least hitting each other when in a group. Then they just act as if all is fine. Like kids standing around in line playing slappass

I don’t think I have bucks fighting at the most peak of the rut

All bucks on camera still have antlers here. Central Alabama.

Had someone swear they saw tiny fawn tracks in their garden TODAY. Is that even possible?

Most of mine still have horns in Madison Parish.
I’ve come across active scrapes all over the South during turkey season over the years. Some of this years fawns will come in as well as some does that weren’t bred.

I think he lost one side. Been waiting for his sheds.

Pic from this morning looks like one dropped. Not the clearest pic but I have many pics of him this year and all clearly show both sides.

The rut in the Florida panhandle is late January to February. 2 years ago turkey season I had a buck chase a doe past me, probably her second heat? Frickin nuts.

One sided buck walked in behind me yesterday morning. He had either shed one side or broke off. Couldn’t tell.
