My mother sent me some chain email the other day about some silly Monsanto thing and how it was killing the world. All of the "facts" in it were wrong. So, I took the time to respond to the entire Old Lady Email Chain about how GM crops actually reduce, not increase the volume of pesticides applied, etc, etc.
The facts are a real drag to these armchair liberals and tinfoil hat conspiracy guys.

while I agree your original post was moronic, at least you didn't bring up Monsanto. it is impossible to argue that the planet would not be better off without many franken-plants they introduced

It is a rather unpopular opinion which confuses me as to why it offends so many people. I suspect it has to do with religions though. And of course if you dare to suggest that the earth my be overpopulated, the classic response is "I agree, so kill yourself".

Invasive species are a huge problem. Many plants were brought over because they "looked pretty". Privet, Chinese Tallow, Water Hyacinth. All cases of mankind messing things up.
