Any precision 22 shooters in here?

I've had the urge to build a precision 22 - probably a bolt gun. I'm not sure why. And it seems ridiculously overpriced for what it is but I've got the bug and it's something different to do.
I was originally looking at a higher end 10/22 build but I've since went down the bolt action rabbit hole. Anyone have any experience with a RimX action or Vudoo or anything similar?

I've been shooting rimfire PRS for 2.5 years. I shoot a CZ 457 with a Lilja barrel, and I shoot with other guys that shoot Bergara, Vudoo, and RimX.
I love my CZ's and my misses are my fault not the guns. I also have a CZ 457 MTR that I sometimes use in matches. Bergara, Vudoo, and RimX are all Rem 700 pattern so the aftermarket is wide open for them. You are a little more limited with CZ.
Any other questions just ask

I used to plink with used car salesman that just missed making the Olympic team several years back. He used a Vudoo. (I was using an old Remington, not a serious shooter)

high end bullets, or quality reloads, are mandatory.....

What he said/posted. That is s one fine rifle. I'd love to have one. A guy in my camp/lease has one suppressed and topped with a night force. The action is as smooth as it gets. I can only dream!

I didn’t see where CZ offers a barreled action. Does it matter which model you start with? Are all the actions/receivers the same? Did you do the barrel swap yourself or take it to a shop?

Pretty sure you can’t buy just an action
Just buy the cheapest you can find and the go from there.
Or buy a complete rifle from area 419.

High quality ammo. I shot a semi-custom match Anschutz.

I used to play around with it.
Lots of info in the rimfire forums at Benchrest.com and in several forums at Rimfire Central.

Look into rimfire central forum, they’re knowledgeable.
My favorite rimfire is my CZ. Surely they have more expensive ones.

In the mid 2000’s I shot in several local IR 50/50 benchrest matches. I participated in the factory class and used a Sako P94 Finnfire, glass & pillar bedded factory stock, Jewell 2 ounce trigger, and Lilja barrel. In rimfire, it’s all about finding the right lot of ammunition that shoots tiny holes with your rifle.
You can easily spend $5,000 on a custom build. My advice, find a very nice used rifle for $750-$1200 and learn how to shoot and read the wind from this rifle. As noted above, a CZ 457 can be very competitive at an entry level price. Anschutz and Sako Finnfire rifles can be found online.
Edit: Here’s a great starter rifle

No need to get a gunsmith involved. The receiver has 2 set screws the hold the barrel in place. You loosen the set screws remove the old barrel and put the new barrel in place and tighten the set screws. Depending on the barrel manufacturer it may require shimming that just means taking a measurement and doing some subtraction.
They do have gunsmiths that are threading receivers, trueing the face, or making press fit barrels, but I just have a prefit barrel. I’m shooting 1/4” groups @ 50yds with SK Standard+ and Lapua Center-X. The difference is I get a better SD with the Center-X and that translates to tighter groups carrying out further.

Really? I can probably do the same with my 1984 Marlin Model 60. I shoot squirrels in the head with stock ammo.

Have you looked at pcp air rifles? They are amazingly accurate. I’m putting 5 shots with my dirty thirty at 50 yards inside a dime. You can also get fully automatic pcp air rifles like the Hatsan blitz that will put a smile on your face.

Man, rimfire ammo sure sucks these days.

I'm sure you can do it with irons sight and shooting free hand?

Any difference in the three, as in accuracy ?

It comes down to the barrel. RimX doesn't make a factory barreled action so those are all custom setups, but Bergara and Vudoo do offer factory setups.
The factory barreled setups do have some variation. If you are going custom, I don't think it matters that much on which action you start with. In the matches that I shoot in their will be custom guns from all three brands. Sometimes the guy with the Bergara wins, sometimes it's the RimX, and other times it's the Vudoo.
There are some differences with functionality. RimX requires some time to dial in the mag because of the way it feeds the rounds.
TLDR: If you go custom, I don't see a difference between the 3 brands. I would list Vudoo factory setups above a Bergara factory setup.
