It sometimes stays open into February in a small part of Grant Parish.

I vividly recall some folks I grew up with hammering them on valentines day in 1982....
I did not partake in that hunt....
actually when I see the morning news with blizzards in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan this early......coupled with the drought this fall... .when you find one.. you will find 5... sometimes 10..
they don't like to be more than 500 yards from where they feed... primary feed does not like drought .. yesterday on my walk was probably the most i have seen over my neighborhood at dusk in 10-12 years.

One of my places stays wet due to springs. I'll have to check that one out.

man, great shots. Sure do miss lowland bird hunting. We did it for years without dogs and the initial flush of the bird or the occasional rabbit is a rush I won't forget.

AlxTgr and I did the same. I would always trade my rabbits for his timberdoodles. His daddy liked rabbits.

Only one I ever killed was with the 4 wheeler. Didn't have to cook too much rice that evening

yes it do, and they are swarming in there.
you could still go out there, but the cattle guy seems to have taken over the hunting.
