Dumb question but would I be better off buying 2 of these and coupling them together vs. buying this from NT? Powerhorse 3500w rated

Bought the open frame 4000 last week. Ran like a charm. Should be excellent if/when a storm knocks out the power this year.

Can anyone recommend some heavy duty extension cords to run with this unit for my fridge/freezer

How far a run will it be from the generator? In most cases if it is 50 feet, or less, you can get a good 12 gauge extension cord at any big box, Ace, or Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight

Honestly, neither. I’d go with their 6250 open frame inverter that is cheaper than the northern tool option.

I just ordered 2. I have a whole house gen at home but got these in case we loose power at work.

Anyone mind posting an overview for people who ever never used one before as far as breaking it in and basic care?

My employer decommissioned a 17KW Generac I was able to snag with the transfer switch. What will this power?

What's the transfer switch amp rating? I'm guessing around 200 amp. My guess would be a nice sized house.

That's awesome man. Congrats on the steal Get a qualified electrician to wire the switch into your electrical panel.

What's the fuel source for it? Natural gas or propane?

It's currently nat gas but I was going to switch it to propane or see if there is a dual fuel kit available.

Went to sleep last time, not today. Just ordered one. Too much red and white meat in the freezers to risk an extended outage.

Anyone have a window unit or portable AC that would work well with this generator?

Thinking of getting a second one in order to run our fridge/freezer, freezer, window unit/portable AC, fans and tv between the two generators.

This would be for power outages at our home in south LA.

Change the oil every hour for the first three hours on all these little inverters. You will be shocked at how bad it looks after one hour of run time. The magnetic dipstick works great as well.

Can confirm, breaking in mine I picked up last time the deal went live.
