Let us know how these new generators worked out! I am looking at the WEN GN875i 8750-Watt model.

I am intrigued

Any owners out there?

I have the 2000W Invertor Generator. Its yellow instead of orange. I absolutely love it, especially at the price. I bought it to power fishing lights on the boat/remote island. Abuse it at times and have left it set up for months at a time. Never any issues. Regular gas with a little stabil and it always starts on first/second pull. Quiet running.

The eco mode option is really cool. Seems to burn a 1/3 of the gas when utilized.

Funny thing, I bought it 3-4 yrs ago off of Amazon thinking it was a Chinese knockoff of a Honda. Had no idea Wen was a US company. Not sure if they have them made in China, but its definitely not a cheaply made product.

This generator has more than paid for itself during Ida power outages.

It’s $429 now instead of $385 but it’s still a good deal.

Thanks again OP

I used it in the daytime to run my fridge, tv, PlayStation, and several fans. I used it at night to run a window unit, tv, PlayStation, and several fans.

I just purchased that one yesterday…too good of a deal to pass up. I should be able to run my freezer, fridge, window unit and a couple box fans at the same time without issue.

What is the difference between an open frame and a closed frame generator?

open frame

closed frame

take it in a literal sense, its just an open frame where you can see the motor

So there is no difference mechanically except the open frame model is noisier than the other one. It would seem like the open frame model would run cooler, but rain may affect it more.

No matter what, you should be covering these things from rain and sun.

Think I’m getting this one and then install a transfer switch. I can use my little inverter generator to run my fridge and then at night use this one for hot water, AC, and stove, tv, etc…..

With fema reimbursing up to $800 I figured why not get the biggest and if they don’t that’s still a good price at $900. No taxes or shipping
