Would like to buy a John boat for a 50 acre lake. Trolling motor only. Would love to have very stable for stand fishing with possible platform, but would also like to keep weight reasonable. Any suggestions?

Just go get one of those cheap ones from Academy and put some plywood on the floor

My cousin lives on a 30 or 40 acre lake and has a little mini pontoon boat for it. Is a pretty awesome set up for fishing 2 people.

I bought one of these about 2 months ago to go on small lakes and rivers. I got mine with the trolling motor.

Any Jon boat 48 inches or wider will be plenty stable.

I'd build one if I was op. It'd be a fun project and not expensive. If you are careful when drawing it out you could probably do it with 3 sheets of marine plywood and a few 1 bys.
Glue it together with 5200 and brass screws. Itd be fun fun

Pond King is the name of the one at our camp. Has two seats, trolling motor, depth finder, and a livewell.

I have caught a ton of bass out of one of these with a trolling motor. Fishes two comfortably all day.

Not sure what your budget is, but there a couple of companies making "pond-toons" like this:
That's what I'd recommend. Super stable and easy to fish from.

ok so its only 3/4 mile lake. in that case those plastic 2 seater boats are best thing ever or just get a kayak if you fish alone.
if you want to bring kids, or have kids use it, then a small john boat with 48" bottom is perfect for that
also look at this little sailboat LINK
we had a sailboat like this as kids and had a blast with it, and after the sail ripped, me and my dad fished everywhere in it for like 12 years and the whole thing weights like 50 lbs to carry around. they are foam filled so its unsinkable and its so easy to paddle you wont even need a trolling motor and with no trolling motor it doesnt need registering.

That's a cool looking boat that I bet would make for a good duck hunting set-up.

Wrong again. 0.75 would be 3/4 of a sq mi.
0.078 would be slightly over 1/16th of a sq mi.
