How much off roading do you really plan on doing with them? I've had AT's for years but got sick of the noise, ride, adn fast wearing treads.
I bought Michelin LTX MS2's and will never look back. Quiet, smooth, and double the miles.

Not a better tire for wet roads

I need the aggressive tire when I go to the hunting lease and to the crawfish pond. I have a work car so I won't be driving the truck a lot.

I've got a set of Mickey Thompson ATZs on my Tacoma that just went over 80,000 miles. They aren't worn to the wear bars yet, and the ride is still pretty smooth. The Terra Grapplers are good tires too, but they don't hold up to the ATZs in the mud.

ETA here's a picture of the tread left on my tires

I said it earlier today on another A/T thread, best A/T tire for the money is the General Grabbers. Very similar design to BFG's with extra gaps in the outside row to clear out mud. I had BFGs before. They were great on road and lasted a long long time BUT they are $$$$ and are shite offroad.

I have 25k on my grabbers, still running very good with little tread wear. Used them several times offroad getting to/from duck blind and they've handled it as good as any A/T tire I've seen. Not a fan of the Nitto's because of their shitty offroad performance as well. If you're looking for a good AT tire that doesn't need that much offroad grip, the Nitto's are a good choice. If you do get into some mud, you're gonna regret those things.

The best tires I had on my truck for mud were Firestone Destination M/T's. I went through some pretty crazy shite with them for a 2wd truck. I will never put M/T's on again though, it was like driving a fast tractor.

I had Swampers on one of my Tacomas and you couldnt even make a phone call while on the interstate. They pulled really well in the mud though. Got em for cheap as hell in Rayne with free mount/balance at the Swamper place. If I remember correctly I got 40-45k out of them.

Mine had maybe 5K good miles left when I got em. Paid $80 for the set, mounted and balanced them myself at the shop I used to work at. I put about 3000 miles on them and put stock tires back on

Nitto terra Grappler: great reviews, good pricing look good. Think I'm leaning to these.

Don't put these on an SUV. I got a set on my 4Runner and the ride is so much stiffer. I'm just biding my time til I replace them with BFGs.

So many different opinions here. Now I'm leaning to the MThompson's.

The MThompson's are $1130 installed
Nittos are $1032
Grabbers are $1128 but not available
BFGs are $1300+ everywhere

Like most, I have the BFG A/T. No problems so far. I got 50k on my first pair, probably could have got another 5 or 10, but I'm taking the truck across country in a month, so I decided to buy another set. The dealership was running a buy 3, get 1 free deal, so I jumped on it.

What size?

The Mickey Thompsons are a nice tire. I also like the Dick Cepek FCII's...but never priced them.

Im about to buy some of those bfg ats.
I have a buddy who owns a tire store, said he would hook me up.
How much is considered getting hooked up on these particular tires?

I paid $750 for mine. Installed.

I was going to go with the cheaper Firestone, but when I got there, the guy said that he did not have the Firestone in stock, so he would give the the BFG at the Firestone price. Then, when he gave me the ticket, he realized that he did not add the installation fee, but said that he had already given me the ticket, so he couldn't charge me for that either.

So I got 4 BFGs installed for $750.
