Unfortunately, this is very common of small conceal, carry guns. I would suggest finding a good local gunsmith and have him polish the ramp. Also, before feeding any hollow points or personal protection rounds through the gun it needs to be broken in with at least 100 rounds of ball ammo. Hope that helps out.

Your issue is with Taurus and not Academy.

A manufacturer sold you an inoperative firearm, what does that say about their quality control processes?

If I were you I'd be asking for a full refund from Taurus. You wont get it, but they may upgrade you to a better gun for your troubles..

Yes, they really are.

Even "The Judge" sucks arse.
It takes real work to make a revolver unreliable, but damn if Taurus didn't find a way.

First off stay away from Taurus autos.... Secondly, never by a gun from a big box store. Is saving $40 on the price of a gun worth dealing with no customer service after the purchase? Most local stores have a gunsmith in house or one they use for warranty work. Most if not all gun companies have a warranty station "local gunsmith" that does their warranty work for them. Very seldom does the gun make it to the actual factory. The reason it takes so long is that the gunsmith will do the work for the local stores that they have deals with prior to doing other stores warranty work. For instance, buy at Lafayette Shooters and warranty work has a certain turn around time of a couple weeks.... Buy same gun at academy, it gets sent to same gunsmith and it takes 6-8wks

Taurus ships their weapons with a heavy white shipping grease. A lot of people seem to have issues with their new Taurus until the clean every trace out of the gun. I have a 24/7 DS Pro that I love, but I cleaned it thoroughly when I got it.

it is because guns are not bought they are transferred. This is SOP for all stores.

They say it likes 4 or 5 times in the process of filling out the paper work that you cannot return guns.

I bought a gun from Academy a couple of weeks ago and he was literally getting on my nerves he said this so many times.

What if you went out and shot someone with said gun, only to return it next day? i can understand why they wont take it back.

Usually ammo and guns don't have a return policy at large chains. Call Taurus, I'm sure they will fix it for you. Might cost a little shipping, but, hey, what else you gonna do. And ps, don't shoot your eye out.

Send it to Taurus. All firearms and ammo are non refundable. They say so when you buy.

Xxx,
Are you using JHP ammo or FMJ ammo?
If you have multiple mags, does it do this w/ both mags or just one mag?

If you're using JHP's, you might try a mag or two of FMJ's. If it's not greatly improved, I'd send it back to Taurus. Be sure you call them first for them to provide you a shipping label to save you the cost of shipping. If they don't provide you a shipping label, I'd try to see if Academy will ship it for you and you reimburse them. It's $25 to ship a gun so you want all the help you can get. DON'T do any work yourself or have any other non-Taurus gunsmith's work on the gun unless you want to run the risk of VOIDING the lifetime warranty.

Be patient and you'll get the gun made right, but it might take months.
