They quit having them on the shelf in the store about two years ago. Today they discontinued website sales.

Their offerings were overpriced anyway.

Most of their firearms and all of their ammo is overpriced. Would never buy an AR from Academy anyway.

Sounds like academy is going to go the way of Dick’s.

Go woke, get broke.

Shame. We spend a moderate amount there. Warm weather camo, work boots, run shoes, etc. They go Dicks, we never go back.

Youre not wrong. But, they are still my go to local outdoor retailer. I dont bow hunt, or it would be Bowies.

Agreed. Unfortunately, it's the best we've got in my area, aside from saltwater fishing gear. Plenty of local places for that.

Academy, Dicks, Bass Pro - they are all the same. Chinese outlet malls selling utter garbage.

These days? That has always been their model. And sometimes that's all I need.

And their employees have no knowledge of hunting or fishing. I had one the other day tell me that no one make 14 lb monofilament.

No, they used to sell high end rods/reels and better fishing stuff in general. I am therefore not surprised they’re completely tone deaf to what shooters want as well.

If Academy just stops selling and doesn’t announce it to the world that guns are the problem then it isn’t going woke.

They still sell $100-250 rods from Shimano, gloomis, st croix, Waterloo, falcon, lews, etc. On the reel side they don't really carry much if anything over $200

I'll pick up some target ammo there but thats about it. They have some deals on ammo sometimes but last time I was there I saw some 3" steel shot that was like $50 a box that is $25 at the local mom and pop which made me laugh.

I would never purchase a firearm from there to begin with unless it was super cheap (which they almost never are).
