So they stopped selling them for what reason?

They are prob worried about some asshat shooting up a school after buying a gun from them and then getting sued.

I wouldn't buy a complete rifle anyway, way more fun to buy the parts and do it yourself.

As long as the parts are around...

Good. Spend your money at a local store that’s supportive of our rights instead of a corporation

Academy, Dicks, Bass Pro - they are all the same. Chinese outlet malls selling utter garbage.

Don’t lump bass pro in with them. I do like Bass Pro

Ok folks, just remember this as some of you shite all over Academy.

For the longest time, they were the only retail outlet that carried ammo after the "Summer Of Love" and not only were they the only ones, they never once price gouged. You could get ammo from Academy when you couldn't get it anywhere else, especially big time online outlets. And even if you could, they gouged the living shite out of you.

For this reason, they've got my loyalty and they should have loyalty from some you folks as well.

Academy use to have middle of the road prices on ammo. Not a deal but not the high end either. It was a good back up to pick up some at a decent price. Now I find their ammo is on the high end of the spectrum, outside of the gougers.

I honestly looked at guns at Academy once or twice in my existence. Never a great selection and rarely a good price.

I do buy fishing stuff at Academy, somehow they will get stuff that Superior just won't order. I usually check Superior first but I have no problem picking up at academy.

I also get the kids outdoor clothes there, they have good prices on performance shirts and similar and I get the kids decked out to protect them from the Sun.

They still sell $100-250 rods from Shimano, gloomis, st croix, Waterloo, falcon, lews, etc. On the reel side they don't really carry much if anything over $200

Yea, I scooped up a new Lew's Pro-Ti SLP Speed Spool reel and a Dobyns Champion series rod a couple months back. $260 rod and $380 just for reel before taxes. That’s the most expensive freshwater reel I’ve ever purchased and it’s pretty great but I’ll never spend that much on a bass reel again. As good as that reel is I still think my Lew’s hypermag is better which is $60 dollars cheaper and my BB1s seem to perform about the same and those reels at $200 is a good price. I like shimanos and still use my Curados some but I haven’t been impressed with the ones they’ve put out the last 5 years

As far as bass fishing rods go it’s hard to beat Dobyns. Their Xtasy and Champion serious rods are hard to beat

Walmart actually sold Colt 6920s at a decent price (at least the ones here).

I’ll go to academy to grab some t shirts and other sports outdoor stuff because they do have decent prices and sometimes good sales on their apparel

Already happened, they settled out of court with the families of the Sutherland Springs Church shooting, wouldn't doubt if part of the settlement included them discontinuing the sales of ARs.
