I just see no need for them. I put a scope on my gun so I don't have to use irons. I see no advantage to irons on a hunting rifle.

Honestly, they have been on rhere since i put them on as a teenager 20 yeas ago. no real reason to change them now as it doesnt get shot but a few times a year

I have one (Marlin) that I packed through the woods as a youngster. I was thinking of outfitting it with a quad rail and turning it into a tactical zombie killer. 30/30 is supreme over all other calibers when it comes to zombies.

I always thought it was kinda cool to put the old lever action in a saddle mounted gun sling, and just ride around on horses in his pasture....

lets face it. the 30-30 won the west and will win the zombie war.
I have one that I paid $40 for about 40 years ago. And yes, it killed many many deer. Some days I still use it for deer hunting. It all depends were I will hunt that day. Sorry, I'm not a fan of having a scope on a 30-30. To fun of a gun to shoot without a scope.

I absolutely will NOT own a deer rifle that doesn't have a scope on it. Scopes are just too damn nice.
I did take the scope off my henry for a summer of can shooting though.
