Downvote away, but the truth is most feathered baby birds don't need "rescuing", but if you do it anyway, do it right, don't wet it put it in a box away from its parents and then complain it's too much trouble to take it to someone who can rehab it.

UPDATE - LSU Wildlife Hospital said to leave it in a box as it may be learning to fly and just needs to regain strength. They also said keep an eye out for being messed with by other wild animals or pets. For the a-holes here, I was caring for ailing family member last night and couldnt leave. Thanks for offering to come transport this bird for me. Besides LSU recommended leaving it overnight.

This morning it was much more healthy looking and bleeding had stopped. Im pretty sure bleeding was from hitting my sidewalk.

Its now in the care of LSU Wildlife Hospital. I also donated money. The tech said he looks very healthy and has a good chance of making it. The tech said maybe Red Shoulder Hawk as well. Hope it makes it.

UPDATE #2 - when I got back home from LSU Wildlife Hospital, I started cleaning up debris. I found a 2nd bird. This one much smaller, covered in ants and flies trying to lay maggots. I cleaned him up and he is perking up. Unfortunately I dont think this guys chances are good. Im going to head back to LSU though.

Bastard is baiting them to his setup. I swear, you can’t ever win playing by the rules. Screw it.

He's got nets, heaters, giving them baths, probably got mice farm in the back right off the pergola next to his potted cherry tomatoes. I'm gonna start the Delta Raptor Migration Restoration Foundation to attract attention to this unjust disruption in the movement of species we all deserve to appreciate.

UPDATE #3 - The 2nd bird is at LSU Wildlife Hospital. I really don't like his chances. It was a runt to begin with. Both birds are hopefully in best care possible. BTW Wings of Hope was full and couldnt take them.
