Getting a nice wad of Mallards to fall into the decoys in actual flooded timber.
This. Also, seeing a big ole trout shake that yellow mouth in the air is what keeps me feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve a lot of the time.

Specklebelly hunting. Having a conversation and getting birds to light 20 yards from you is like damn crack to me. Sweetest sound ever.
This is 1A for me especially the cartwheeling and acrobatics when they are diving in. Aerial Art!
Also, having that Long-beard Strut, Drum and Fan coming from distance where you can watch him get to the kill zone......Well, that is a also 1A.
I don't think I have ever had an adrenaline rush like the Turkey experience, but the General's diving in is DAMN close.

Killing a deer on a dog hunt. 25 of your family in a picture with a dead deer is irreplaceable

Ducks back when there was ducks around to kill. Progressing over to western big game.
Hiking in the high dessert and Rockies is up there as well.

Crisp, cool early fall morning. The sun just starting to come up. Light fog on the water. Nothing but the sounds of birds, insects, and coho crushing twitching jigs

A Louisiana man can't possibly comprehend the amount of open space out there until he sees it

Amen Downshift. When this coonass laid eyes upon my first mountains, I instantly said I was born in the wrong place! I love my roots in La, but mountains and streams and clean crisp air does something to my brain and body that's unexplainable!!!!

Catching mangroves at the close rigs out of Fourchon. Pulled 40 out of one rig a few years ago.

Utah is my dream.

my #1 is still spearfishing.
nothing fancy.. just a simple polespear.
i've had seasons where the routine was to go hunting for hogfish/lobster at sunrise every single morning..and i loved it.
i dont go as much as i'd like anymore..
but i still get chills thinking about the only black grouper i ever had the pleasure of harvesting from the bahamas..him curiously watching me as a descend on him from directly above.. and then me luckily getting close enough to stone him the moment those fins stopped fanning.
(and then my holysheet moment when i finally comprehended the size of that guy..and the fact i had to get him back to surface pronto before "the landlord" came to collect rent)
good times.

The anticipation of trying to determine if the number of the ear tag is the buck you paid for or one you can’t shoot. Jk
I love sitting in my climber 30 mins before sunrise and almost falling asleep cus I’m so relaxed with a nice chew of tobaccy as I wait if the sun to come up and listening to the woods wake up. I spend my whole year in anticipation of that!!! Killing is extra.

The pursuit of catching a 10# bass

Can we be friends? I’m equally obsessed over duck hunting and wade fishing for trophy trout.

For me, nothing beats being in a tree after a cold front with the anticipation of a big buck stepping out.

Seeing my line twitch or start moving whether I am white perch fishing, bass fishing, trout fishing, cat fishing or whatever
Also, watching a cork go under never gets old. Brings back childhood memories

My vice is fishing. Especially big Lake Runners and Reds in the Marsh

Watching my dog go from wagging his tail to wagging his butt in excitement when he realizes he's completed a track and found the deer at the end of it.
