I was skunked this morning and stayed until 10:30. Got back on the stand at 1:15, still nothing. Another guy hunted the stand this morning that I sat in yesterday evening and saw a shooter buck but couldn’t get a shot off. This may be my last hint of the year, so I’m hopeful for an eventful evening.

I’m on the owner’s stand that hasn’t been hunted in four weeks. There are 8 deer in the plot I hunted this morning right now. Another guy here has deer on him now also.
We have one guy that has never killed a deer before that has been given the green light to shoot a deer. Any deer.

Finally got an opportunity to get back in the swamp outta the pirouge with the 30-30

Sitting in mucky timber by a bean field. Haven’t set foot over here all year.
ETA: I just attempted to rattle and threw out a snort wheeze. Is it just me or do y’all feel like everything within a 1/2 mile gets out of dodge when you do that? I say that even though I’ve killed one that came in to a wheeze once.
