Lot of athletes are already competing and many are about to start. They aren't going to waste time at opening ceremonies. They never have. That said, this is a big fail for France and the IOC. They tried a bunch of dumb messaging. Just celebrate sport. That's always a winning formula.

I mean some of these countries just don’t have a lot of athletes qualify. That’s nothing new. Not to mention those competing already or in places like French Polynesia

There's a decent chunk of athletes that don't attend the Opening Ceremonies.

Plenty of athletes competing though.

Olympics used to be a big deal when I was a kid. Feels like it’s just another event now.

Well you'd be be wrong It's only 500 athletes off from the all-time record in 2016/Rio. There's been over 10,000 athletes at every Summer Olympics since 1996. This year is no different, it has almost 11,000.

Just saw some clips from the opening ceremony...

I see why it's dying.

Try watching the Olympics in my small town

Olympics are part of the globalist agenda of one world government

Mass migration has largely eradicated any meaningful distinction between nations.

I got offered an opportunity to go to Paris and straighten out Disney’s mess. We had a French Foreign exchange student that lived several hundred miles from Paris. “You don’t want to do that.”

I stayed and finished Orlando then sued them for seven million and won. I detest Disney……that is being nice.

I don't know if they are dying but I DVRed the opening ceremony because I wasn't home earlier. I just went back and scanned through quick mostly just to see the USA. Whatever the hell that was as a opening ceremony was the biggest pile of shite I have ever seen. Who organized that a drunk 3 year old?

You’ve gotten older and age kills mystique, but there is the factor that there is so much more to watch now than even 2012 or 2016 that it has been diluted some by all the other viewing options that exist.

I believe Kobe would refer to this as soft.

Because the French did something you didn’t like, you’re not going to watch the entirety of the Olympics?

That bearded tranny in lingerie was a bit much though.

But agreed, no reason to not watch.
