I know ... wish you could click on one and see it in a larger view ... think that's from their control room someone said earlier. How come they get to see more than us?

Tiger Fred -

I can't find anywhere on here -- did the junk shot work -- has everything stopped flowing? Are they still pumping the drilling mud right now?

Another instance where BP has kept the people in the dark.

I wasn't literally replying to you. I was replying to the back-and-forth. I just had to click on someone's to type a reply. Didn't mean to direct at you personally.

It looks like they are getting ready to get something which looks like a hydraulic control out of the basket The chain sling may be tangled in the control hoses.

Good info all the way thru this thread and a little humor every once in a while to break the tension. And then we hear about another members wife"s terminal condition and it brings us back to what matters.

What matters is people and doing the right thing. I pray wether it be news, strategy, efforts, etc that it is only done with the thoughts of "what is right for the people" PERIOD.

Screw profits, embarrasment, and all other self serving reasons to do anything. Do what's right for the people. BP is on the hook for all of this. I don't care what it costs, FIX IT. By stopping the progress on this rig and waiting ONE MORE MOTHER frickING DAY to assess what was going on downhole, this would not have happened.

ONE DAMN DAY!!! BP and BP only decided to proceed and this is their fault at the end of the day.

I pray for all of us. Mostly for all those directly effected by this. We will ultimately all be hit by htis economically, but many people's lievelyhood will never be brought back.

I think it would not be a bad idea to have a team devised of the best of the best downhole knowledge individuals in the business to have to be flown out to EVERY rig that was ready to plug the hole. They would be the person responsible for going over all the current data before giving the go ahead to proceed.

They wouldn't be working for any oil company and their intentions would be to strictly watch out for the people! Not the companies involved in teh profits on the rig.

Can you give a synopsis in a couple of points of where you understand everything is...

If you can't I understand.

By the way - I agree with everyone who has any sense on here right now -- this is not a moment for politics -- it is a time to pray for an engineering miracle and for a long and tough cleanup to begin.

The judge said it best a while ago -- pity and blame won't help a thing in our beautiful Louisiana. Luck. Time. Divine intervention and an engineering marvel will.

Thanks Tiger Fred for keeping this going. It has been a much needed part of my life for a couple of days now.

I just got word that the "top kill" is working. I was told that the next step is to pump rubber and "golf balls" to stabilize the well, then pump cement.

From whom?

From what I understand the partial junk shot was started yesterday. There was some success but how much I don't know. So if you've got more up-to-date info than this, spill it.
