Man, I was just responding to the people who are criticizing the ones who are out there trying to fix this.
To be fair, I was one of those criticizing. But I was criticizing those who caused this mess. Just so happens those are the same folks who are now trying to fix it. The conundrum is I'm mad as hell at them and think they are on their best day careless buffoons, and on their worst day, criminally negligent felons. But now, I follow this board and watch the live feeds with all my hopes pinned on these very same people to succeed at something I feel they are completely incapable of doing. Yet I hope anyway. And then, if by some stroke of luck and divine intervention, they stop the oil, these same people who caused this catastrophe will march out in front of cameras and expect to be greeted as heroes.
I am done editorializing (hijacking) in a thread that is incredibly informative. I appreciate all of the information those of you in the know are giving to us. FWIW, we may not be petroleum engineers, but we are capable of assimilating new information and digesting it if it were to be given to us. We don't have an intimate knowledge of the oil business, but we have the capacity to grasp many of the concepts and handle the unvarnished truth if the PTB's had a want to share it. (thought I'd throw in some Les Miles since this is still on TD)
OK that's it. If I have any other editorializing to do, I will find a proper thread to hop into.

Has anybody seen any recent shots of the 4 streams coming from the equipment that they were showing most of yesterday and early today. The one were the 2streams on the right looked like they had been significantly reduced.

right side looks to be restricted........left is flowing pretty good.

The right side does seem to have slowed.

See it now. Looks to me about the same as it did early this AM.

Also, I'm sure they stop flowing the dispersants now that the oil isn't leaving the riser for the time being, right?
Posted on 5/28/10 at 11:37 am to LSUPEPPER
All of my sources are on land.. These people are working up to 20 hour days. No one wants this thing to stop flowing more than the people working for BP.

tigerfred,if they have mud going down the hole why do they wait to start pumping cement? if the mud is going downhole then the mud pressure is greater than the oil presser. is this correct. i guess you can tell i know nothing about this.

Pepper, what they want to do is pump enough mud downhole to balance the formation pressure that's trying to push the oil up. When they reach that equilibrium, they will cement it so that it will stay there. Eventually the relief wells will put a permanent cement plug in to completely seal the well.

I say they produce this well with a Louisiana company and every drop of oil and gas sold from it goes to help the people.
No reason to let it go to waste at this point. But NOT to BP for sure.
