fortunatly the fact that we havent heard what plan B is leads me to believe there isnt one.

The next plan has been out for a month now. Things change so it may nolonger be the next option but it has been there as the next option to this one for a long time.

Suttles stated earlier in the week that BOP on BOP is no longer an option

wondered that also, unless there is drill pipe loose inside that would bind the saw again.

But yeah, cleaner the cut, the better the seal seems to me.

This is from the Orangetoes poster on the volnation site that was pointed out on here the other day:

All of you would be correct. I know the "source control" personnel aren't happy about it, either. So, either BP execs, MMS, USCG, or Obama Administration is making the decision to move quickly instead of taking the time to do it right. I know for a fact that Sec Salazar was in source yesterday listening to the "hive" - or maybe it was the day before since my days are running together a little bit.

Here is a quick tidbit - the "hive" is a 24 hour conference call run by "source control." Every vessel working to stop the flow at the well (source) stays on that call all day. From the hive comes all directions to the ROV's, etc. There is also a super secret bat phone that rings next to the controller at the hive for offline conversations. Only the client reps have that number and we use it to ***** about ROV pilots, boat captains, and anything else that we don't want everyone else to hear... I've been calling that phone an awful lot today...

Different in name and specific design only... There are no less than five top hat/caps on bottom now and two more being built as contingency.

I still like my hot air balloons sewn together with a floating top ring idea.

Chummly has one for sale, I've heard.

I think that's HIGHLY unlikely considering the current state of the flange and what's left of the old riser.

Honestly, I don't think they have been in charge since the fire was put out.

Way too many half wit government types involved, one is too many, always makes any situation worse.
They should be in a support role only, as is fetch coffee and doughnuts and keep your mouth closed.

You know the motto. If you can't hack it offshore there's always MMS.

Enterprise/ROV1 appears to still be rigging a few things up. Looks like they are taking final steps though. If the depth on the ROV that was staring at tophat for most of the day was right, it is hanging about 1800ft above the seafloor..

Hopefully see some action in the next couple hours..

So that big box looking thing is like a hub for electrical, air, methane, etc. connections, sort of a sub station then?
