Child endangerment?

You'd last about 3 seconds against a full grown male gorilla. It would look like a small child attacking a heavyweight MMA Champion. He'd rip your arm off and beat you to death with it if he wanted.

If you jump in the cage, the gorilla may get territorial and sit on the kid in the water.

I am definitely against aquariums. And I am kinda against zoos. I am all for wildlife conservation in the ma h forms it takes. But in many cases, the state we keep these animals in is immoral. Zoos should bring glory to the animals, and too many of them reduce the animals to "amusement".
I agree to an extent. I do think conservation parks are okay for animals, like the one in folsom. Those animals live the same lives they have in the wild, except with medicine and endless food and water.
I also support Turpentine Creek a great place in Arkansas that takes in domestic bred former 'pet' tigers. Each tiger is getting an enclosure bigger than Mike's. It's pretty awesome to see. They have a lot built, you can donate and have one name for you, or sponsor an animal. This place is great.
My favorite was the fat arse Liger that seemed to be fascinated by people.

Wtf is wrong with that bitch? I'd be in that damn cage fighting that big arse thing off the second I knew he was in there.
Good thing it wasn't your kid then. If you or anyone had jumped in to try to fight the fricking gorilla, then the kid, you, and gorilla all would have died.

The parents should have to pay for the new gorilla
Also zoos should be illegal. Only uneducated poor people go to those places

That ranks as one of the most stupid posts I've ever read on this board. What the hell is wrong with you? You think Human life is no more valuable than any other species? That's fricking insane.
You think all human life is equally valuable?
If you had some ISIS child rapist in front of you and a gorilla, and had to shoot one, who do you kill?
Posted on 5/29/16 at 1:29 pm to AlwysATgr
Damn people, obviously it sucks the gorilla died but people in here acting like they should have let the kid die because of negligance of the parents? Wtf

You're raising a false dichotomy. You're comparing a child rapist to a wild animal. Nobody is going to say a child rapist terrorist is worth saving.
A more accurate comparison would be to ask your question with a regular human in the place of the ISIS child rapist. In fact, the best way to ask the question is to put yourself in it.
If you had yourself and a gorilla and one of you has to be shot and killed, who do you think should be put down?

There are some really shitty zoos in this world, but most major zoos keep their animals in humans conditions that simulate a real wild habitat for these animals. They are also integral in many research and breeding programs that have helped us understand animal behavior.

I may have missed something, but I don't recall a single person explicitly saying that.
They should have done exactly what they did, and now they should punish the parents for making it come to that through their negligence. Secondly, all zoos should have impenetrable fortresses around dangerous wild animals...not 4 foot walls and a fricking mote. The cages aren't just to keep the animals in...they're to keep the hundreds of children who are too young to have any idea what's going on, and who have shite parents, out.

frick that little brat
this is the animals habitat, fenced in, u can't just fall in, so if u climb in, ur at it's mercy. Trainers should try to help via use of tranqs, not live rounds.
frick these excuses for people and their shite head kids causing others harm, all because they are stupid and breed ignorant children.

According to the article, she was watching a bunch of kids and repeatedly told him no.

So let the kid fend for himself until the gorilla kills him?

Do you honestly think a four year old child can understand this or the consequences of going into the gorilla enclosure?
quote:

For the fourth or fifth time, tranquilizers do not act instantaneously. Even if it takes as little as 30 seconds to take effect, that's more than enough time for the gorilla to kill that kid. Do you have any idea how strong a full grown male gorilla actually is?
quote:
frick these excuses for people and their shite head kids causing others harm, all because they are stupid and breed ignorant children
All four year old children are by nature ignorant. Do you know what the word "ignorant" means? It means to lack knowledge. And four year old children lack the knowledge that animals, especially wild animals, are inherently dangerous and can kill them. They don't understand that an animal like a gorilla acts on instinct. They don't understand that it's not their friend.
As for the parent(s) of this kid, yes they should have kept a closer eye on their kid. A four year old cannot grasp the dangers that are around them so as a parent you've got to watch out for those dangers for them. Does that mean these parents in this case should be killed, sterilized, or have their kid taken away because of this? No. There should be some sort of accounting, but nothing as draconian as what some have been calling for here.
