The latest advisory has the center plotted almost precisely where the previous forecast had it at at this moment in time.

We shall see. I remember doing this with Delta. Took the western edge and models were slow to correct landfall, explaining the last day- day in a half shift west that clinched everyone’s a-hole in LC.

Different storm though, different setup. Could have no correlation at all

So coming through Livingston or further West?

Just FYI, it’s gonna hit like 11 other towns before it gets to Livingston

Yeah, Zeta has more definitive steering in play.

No, there's been a watch/warning area that stretched from MS/AL border to Okaloosa/Walton County line in Florida since yesterday.

How much wind does it take to move patio furniture? Does it need to be brought back into the garage?

This is an excellent opportunity to create the OT intensity scale. We already have the OT path forecast with S, H & M movements.

How should we rate intensity? Plastic lawn chair knocked over, lawn chair takes flight, metal patio furniture slides, etc.

I agree. The steering is there. But who’s to say the front doesn’t come through later than expected? It’s not like met’s are able to pinpoint the exact arrival time of a front 48 hours before.

I’m just not getting rid of the idea of being further west than currently thought. You really never know with these systems, and people trying to forecast exact wind/rain readings right now are wasting their time. Just be alert in SELA, Miss/Al coast, and maybe even FL panhandle.

I think it has a better chance to slow down in the gulf and turn further East than to go further west.

Wed right around dark is current projected landfall. Trying to decide how long i will be able to work at the office in Mandeville tomorrow. Live in south east MS and don’t want to be driving home in shitty weather if I can help it.

I know somebody asks in every hurricane post, but this time it’s personal:

Flight out of BR at 5pm on Thursday via United.

Will it happen or not?

I heard that also. From Stormcast. Now I'm seeing it here too so I'm inclined to believe it.
