Also, with the storm this close to landfall, I couldn't imagine the path shifting that much over the next 12 hours.

Not much time left, but anyone boarding windows? I'm on the fence. Might at least board up big windows on S side.
My house took somewhere between 130-150mph in Laura. I had zero broken windows and 30% of my roof was ripped down to wood. In your case, I’d be more concerned with securing outdoor items, moving trash can in garage, etc. than boarding up windows.
The winds you’re looking at will push a lot of pines over at the base, maybe lift some shingles, but most oaks will withstand IMO. I’d prepare for extended power outages with how thin crews are spread, but response has exceeded expectation all season.
Spend that window-boarding time more wisely by roasting bread for milk sandwiches ahead of landfall.

Who did the email come from? Who signed their name on it?

the statement they made on Monday about little confidence in the forecast track when it was projected to come straight at us
I’ve been saying this all along.
This is what you get when you let them move the cone. You erode confidence.

Low end cat 2 direct hit on NOLA during primetime.

You should teach them how to write angry letters to those damn bastards that wouldn’t move your renter beach umbrella.

quote:You are ridiculous. On Monday, over 56 hours from the storm, they are simply stating how confidence in forecasts is low. That comes from the meteorologist themselves
That’s great that they can get it right the day before the storm hits. My point was the statement they made on Monday about little confidence in the forecast track when it was projected to come straight at us, made little to no sense to include. It gives people a false sense of security.
Yesterday, still over a day from the storm, they updated the system again stating the current forecast. That is plenty of time and nothing is egregious with either email
And your original post was shite considering

They still have clinics open with a cat 2 hurricane hitting in like 8 hours

Nearly 100 pages I imagine someones pointed out how appropriate it is this storm’s name starts with a “Z”, and were at the exact tail end of hurricane season and by all means this should be the last one unless we’re headed for a true record breaker here. Which is all the more appropriate given this is 2020.
Should've joined a frat dude...
Here's a little help...

I think LSUpride sent the email

Alright enough with the e-mails. This isn’t Hunter Biden’s laptop we’re talking about.

Every hospital and medical system in the area still has clinics open
If you want to question that fine. I’m simply saying Ochsner leadership is not telling us the forecast is shite and this will be a nothingburger in system emails

Construction wrapped up late last week. Sustained considerable water damage from Delta in already repaired areas. Awaiting inspections timeline but anticipate soft open in a couple weeks.
Hope your pappy is good.

Cosmo you still thinking this will dissipate at the coast? We read your posts last night and decided to ride it out in our trailer camp in Grand Isle

No, I'm late to the party and am only skimming through the 107 pages
I was just responding to what the person said was in the e-mail.
It is a bit of a relief that someone at a company like Ochsner would not put something out there, especially in writing.
