Storm 2k people are saying a possible East shift which would be really good for Nola. Still going to be rough but anything helps.

Good afternoon,
Ochsner’s Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor Tropical Storm Zeta which is expected to move inland late Wednesday near the Louisiana-Mississippi border as a strong tropical storm or Category 1 hurricane. This is expected to be a fast-moving storm with the potential for limited overnight impact from tropical storm-force winds in the New Orleans area, storm surge in low-lying coastal areas and isolated heavy rain bands. We expect the storm to have moved well out of our area by Thursday morning.
Operations Update
• The Ochsner Emergency Management team, along with our Facilities and IS teams, have ensured the system is prepared should we lose power.
• All Ochsner Health facilities are operating normally, and all facilities will be open for business as usual tomorrow, October 28. Your local leadership team will alert you of any unexpected closures or changes to operating hours.
Staffing Update
• We do not plan to call for Emergency Personnel for this tropical storm/Category 1 hurricane.
• Local teams in impacted areas may be asked to report early for their Wednesday evening shift while some staff may wish to remain on campus until they feel safe to travel. Please work with your local leader on the staffing needs for your area.
• If you face challenges reporting for work tomorrow or Thursday due to transportation, childcare or weather issues, please talk with your direct manager or supervisor for direction and guidance, including how to manage your time in Kronos.
• Please also work directly with your leader or the Collaborative Staffing Resource Center (CSRC) to address staff coverage in your area. The CSRC manages staffing for all nursing and various clinical roles for the system. The CSRC can be reached at 1-855-888-2772 or CSRC@ochsner.org.
Please make any preparations now to ensure the safety and security of your home and family. Please travel safely.
Especially during this challenging year and busy hurricane season, we appreciate everything you do for our patients and our system.

That’s the most recent one you idiot. They said they didn’t believe the forecast path on Monday email.
On Monday morning, they currently said confidence was still low in the forecast, which is basically what the weather people say that far out too

I’m so done with this shitty year. The spin up for nothing of this season now has everyone at work hesitant to make decisions when we get one that actually might affect us.
Why to we get upset about “nothingburgers”? If I get a storm, and it ends up a minor inconvenience, I’m good. I’m perfectly okay. Work can be done, schedules can be made up. You err on the side of caution always.

Monday morning they sent out their first email just alerting everyone about the storm, and how the forecast was still uncertain
Yesterday, they updated with the current forecast and didn’t say shite about not trusting or thinking the forecast is wrong.

I understand thinking that because is seems like storms routinely drop in strength right before landfall around this time of the year. However, you cannot put that in writing and/or make decisions based on that line of thinking.
Also, with the storm this close to landfall, I couldn't imagine the path shifting that much over the next 12 hours.
