Some of the parents stay after to run 3 year old Jaxson through drills they just went over. After practice, overheard a parent tell their 3 year old they can’t leave until they hit the ball on the T w a throw from the mound
That’s ridiculous and will ruin the game for the kids. T ball is for fun. Now if the kid has a legit dream with some talent at around 10-12 years old then yea the parent should push them

travel karate > travel ball

Same here. It was for the actual players who had real potential. Then it became a money scheme and anyones little Johnny can be on one so the parents can live vicariously through their child and they have all these tournaments and World Series to rack up the trophies for parents to post on Facebook and brag about their future mlb player that will at best be a backup on the HS team
Well guess what Millennial, it ant 2000 anymore. Time to get your old arse out the way for the new kids!

I was given females only and we did not go down the softball rabbit hole. Part of me kind of wishes we did now because I just love sports and it stinks when your kids start to get a little older and you want to go back.

This^. I used to crack on travel ball but realize at least these kids are socialized.

Now travel soccer? I’m all in for it….soccer moms>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>travel baseball moms
I need to start scoping these tournaments out. I could be a scout, but scouting for moms. Lots of MILFs here in Cinco Ranch.
I just may be a bit creepy since I don’t have kids.

Some of the same parents that will travel all over the country all year round because they view it as important, but they won’t bring their kids to church and completely ignore their spiritual health.

It becomes a social thing as much as the kids playing.
Said as someone who traveled and played 80 games in a year as a kid.

My sons went to computer camps so they could get into highly competitive STEM programs and have successful lives instead of selling used cars because they didn’t make a college ball team.
So they are nerds. Cool

Yeah it seems AAU basketball has more of a purpose and produce better results

Travel ball doesn't always require you to travel all over. Most of our tournaments are within 50 miles from home. Some do travel, but you know that before you start with a team like that.

My son loves competitive baseball and I can afford it. Beats video games and gang banging.

At least they will make the High School team. I live in Lake Charles, where Barbe is. Last year, 7 of their starting 9 had committed to a college. Most of the kids in this area have their baseball careers end before high school.

If you have the time and the money and enjoy the bonding with your kids on the road it’s not a waste at all. We did travel softball but had no intention of playing softball in college. We just loved the game, the competition and traveling to different cities, states and sports complexes. My daughter, whose a college senior, built some friendships which will likely last for years.

Most of these kids won't play past high school and the parents sign them up to play year round, lol.
Most of these kids can’t even make their high school team even if they play travel ball.

That's one of the most ridiculous and uninformed posts I've read. We're going through spring ball right now and have multiple starters & backups out playing baseball and running track.
PS - the multiple state championship rings in my drawer also say your full of shite.
Addendum - you downvoters are clueless.
