Most of these kids won't play past high school and the parents sign them up to play year round, lol.

When I was coming up in the 2000s there was like one travel team in my county and it was actually a big deal to make it (which I wasn’t able to ).

This is a new an exciting concept I’ve never heard or thought about. What are your thoughts on competitive dance?

I’m amazed my co-worker, out of the 10,000,000 people in the Houston area, can’t find enough 7-8 year old girls to get a soccer game going. Has to travel around the country every weekend.

In Nashville this weekend. New Orleans next. Guess it’s better than being on drugs or dropping out of school tho (because those are the only other option?)

100% this. My youngest wanted to play so we signed her up for 2/3 year old…they run bases, have the ball rolled at them, learn to throw, run to the wall, and hit a tball

Some of the parents stay after to run 3 year old Jaxson through drills they just went over. After practice, overheard a parent tell their 3 year old they can’t leave until they hit the ball on the T w a throw from the mound

My main gripe with travel ball is that it is setup to where you need to play every weekend basically. How many teams are there that just play every other weekend or two weekends per month? balance is important and kids don't need to spend their entire childhood playing baseball every weekend all summer.

It is about daddy’s feelings of inadequacy and regret dude.

5 dollar gasoline takes care of a lot of this idiocy. Just be patient.

Not sure about travel baseball, but my daughter is in the volleyball equivalent. Honestly, unless kids have natural, ungodly talent, it’s the only way to stay competitive. 9 out of the 12 girls on her school team play club ball, and it shows.

We don’t do the national travel ball stuff, and we mainly stay regional. In some cases they can get better coaching, and play against better competition then at the school level.

We don’t push her to do it, wear flat bill hats, white sunglasses or wear matching jerseys either though. For me if the kid wants to do it, and the parents can afford it go ahead. I do know what you’re saying though. Some parents are trying to live through their kids, and think they are they best around.

it has put a huge dent in municipal recreation leagues. Pontiff struggles with getting kids in to play and dads to coach.
