it's gotta suck to be a pro-musician and not be allowed to do the one thing a musician is supposed to do, be creative

not saying it's the same as being bassist for U2, but I'm not friends with Adam Clayton...as far as being creative, they give him complete control over his instrument. traveling is awesome, and they all get the royal treatment. as far as jobs, I'd take his, and I make a damn good living.

This. My buddy makes almost $150k, plus truck, and personal gas card. He drives 5 hours home every weekend on their dime. He is in Cancun right now for 2 weeks.

We worked the same job, I got hurt, he got a promotion.

Yeah, I am jealous.

Eh, I don't know if I would swap with anybody at this point. I have friends that make a little more money, but I have a lot of freedom doing what I do. If I keep my shite in order, then I can do pretty much whatever I want to any day of the week. Good employees help.

As far as something I'd like to do, I think being a pilot would be fun.

Not jealous of any of my friends jobs. I wish I had certain aspects of them like pay but none of them I wish I had the complete package from.

...which resides right smack dab in the middle of shitty pop songs that he had no creative influence over. Im sure the hotels, dinners, lady benefits (if he's single), various available substances, etc are all postives though.

One of my best friends from high school was a struggling musician and started running a community garden in Kentucky to make ends meet. He then moved back home and started a community garden project in our home town. He could care less about money as long as he has a roof and utilities. He works vegetable gardens all day and at night drinks and plays at a local bar. He is one of the happiest people I know. If I could drop my materialistic urges, I would trade in a heartbeat.

Johnny Morris, John Paul's father, owns Bass Pro and yes that awesome business was started right here in Springfield, MO.

Have you ever been to Big Cedar Lodge on Table Rock Lake?

It would be nice to realize that at some point you'll more than likely inherit a large chunk of a nearly $5 Billion fortune.

Yep.

Johnny and John Paul hosted me and some other friends in the pits at Dega and I got to meet all the drivers and crew chiefs and take photos. Dale Jr. says "Hi I'm Dale" and went silent. Weird guy. He also brought some other friends on some insane trips for birthdays, like Pebble Beach, etc. Their plane is awesome, 22 minute flight from Oxford to Birmingham . I have met a couple super rich people in my life and they aren't the norm. Most down to earth, salt of the earth folk imaginable. He started Bass Pro behind a liquor store as a bait shop.

Happy to see non-dick head billionaires exist

I have a friend that's a housewife and I always thought that seemed really cool.

And she doesn't give me that "being a housewife is hard!" story, either. She fully admits she hangs out all day, plays tennis, goes shopping, then cooks and cleans. Very cool.
