'69 F100. 360, 3 on the tree. Wrecked a little in the front and back. AM radio. No power steering. Oddly, it had A/C.

1971 Ford Galaxy 500, 351 Windsor 4 barrel carb. Dad and one of his truck drivers rebuilt the engine. Within 2 weeks I had busted a motor mount and shredded the fan housing. Had about 100k miles on it. We bought it in Tampa and moved to NO and then Memphis.

Dad went and got this for me then:

1980 Toyota Tercel, brand new, 5 speed, 60hp 4 cyl. Was 1 of the 1st 30 Tercels in the USA. Cost a whopping $225 total to fix, including paint, when I rolled it on the passenger side into a ditch on a double date. My gal was steering and shifting while ...my hands were occupied. Car actually increased in value by more than $3k even with the repaired body damage in just 3 years.

Mine was a 76 AMC Pacer. My Wife talked me into letting my dip shite sister in law drive it to Tallahassee to see her boyfriend. He ended up getting drunk and totaling it. Was many years ago and it still pisses me off. Loved that little car.

My Grandfather told me if I made straight A's on my report card for one school year he would get me a new Mustang GT for my 15th birthday. I studied my arse off and did it. I truly don't think he thought it was even possible but he kept his word and he took me to the Ford dealership on my 15th birthday and bought me a brand new1989 black Mustang GT. My parents were furious with him at first but they let me have the car. My Dad made me get a job bagging groceries to help pay for the insurance and made it clear that I was required to maintain good grades from then on if I wanted to keep it. To this day it's still the greatest gift I ever received. I put close to 180,000 miles on that car and traded it in on a truck after I graduated college but I really wish I would have kept it.

I had a 72 LTD, same body style, same engine, red, with a white vinyl top. Original papers were in the glove compartment. Cost a little less that $4900 brand new, weighed 5500 lbs.

I had a 74 Z/28. Bought new, by 1979 the back half was rusted out terribly. Not the worst car I owned, but near the top of the list. Hope you had better luck.

I wish I had a Z28. Mine was a plain old Camaro with a 350 cubic inch engine, 2 barrel carburetor and single exhaust. Stock was 145 HP which had to be the least for any Chevy 350 in history of the company. A lot of “pollution control” that was diconnected when I bought used.

It did have a 8 track tape deck.

350/2BBL That was the base coupe.
One of the reasons I was drawn to this car was it was it had no pollution accessories on it. No air pump or cats. Dual exhaust back to a single muffler with two pipes exiting. It was quick, but by no means really fast. And, it had no stereo/tape player. It was an odd selection of options and I can only guess it was a special order that was never delivered. God, those front and rear bumpers added a bunch of weight didn't they?
