A coworker took off Mon. and Tues. because he dropped a pair of needle nose pliers on his foot. I’ve never heard that one before.

Excuse?

I just call my supervisor and say I’ll be in late or I won’t be in.

The idea is to make it believable.

I “get to work” at 630. Boss doesn’t get in till 8:30 most days. So I’m not late unless I get in after 8:30.

I don’t have a set time I’m required to be in. The earlier I get in the earlier I get to leave, aside from WFM.

My son took a giant shite in his car seat.

Sometimes it’s lie. Sometimes it’s true, like this morning.

I also like to change my tire to a spare the night before. Then when I roll into work late I just tell them I had a flat.

So you put in unnecessary work to get out of working? F that. Find a job that you like.

I was so hung over I slept thru my alarm. Not I forgot to set it, it went off. I slept thru it for a good half hour. Then when I finally got up, well, I was hungover and it took me a while to get here

Same with me, being late to anything causes me to have anxiety. My wife is there the cause of most of my anxiety

I wake up at least once a night in a panic over having potentially overslept my alarm and have done so for virtually 20 years. In that time, it's happened only one time that I can remember. The reality was every bit as terrifying as the nightmares though.

I’ve never been asked why I showed up late for work. When I worked a job where I had to clock in at a certain time, I was always on time. For the past 11 years I’ve been on salary and no one is checking what time I go to work (I also work remotely so it’s a different vibe for sure).
