Good luck with that. As long as there are animals in the wild I will be eating meat.

With enough BBQ sauce, I think I could become a cannibal.

I will continue to eat meat regardless. If the shite hits the fan…whether it be coons, possum, cats, ect. Just don’t know if I can eat an armadillo. Guess I’ll try it if I absolutely have to.

Exactly. I can already hunt and fish, but I'll buy 50 acres and raise my own meat if it comes down to it.

Yep, there’s a lot of meat in the Mighty Mo and its backwaters. I can go set a couple of hoop nets and feed my extended family and some.

Dammit. As one of maybe two or three vegans on this board it's hard not to respond. I cannot stand vegan 'activists' and am the first to admit that 99.9% of them are insufferable narcissistic douchebags that do far more harm than good to the cause they claim to champion.

Veganism is important to me, personally, but I'm not stupid enough to believe it will ever catch on as a mainstream movement. Nor will the consumption of meat ever cease to be the cultural norm and the centerpiece of meals all over the world.

The focus should be on ethical treatment of livestock, and development of a processing industry that doesn't feel a need to shield their own customers eyes from their practices with ag-gag laws.

Leave hunters alone. Animals eat other animals in nature. I have no problem with consumption of game meat brought down in a humane manner. I don't hunt, though, and won't pay others to kill animals for me, so veganism for me. That's partly because of laziness. I just don't feel like getting up at four on Saturday morning to go sit in the woods.

I'm well aware that vegans are consistently ranked as among the most hated people on earth by multiple studies, and expect a hail of downvotes. But I know many vegans, and almost all of them hate guys like this and the fact that most peoples exposure to vegans are limited to loud assholes on the internet and twenty-something 'activists' that are just trying to be edgy before they go back to eating meat in two years. They'll find some new cause to piss off their parents and move along leaving the rest of us to answer for their shite.

eta- and, btw, one of my favorite things about being vegan is the fact that I can lower the boom in the "who's doing more" category when leftist pussies get high and mighty about driving a hybrid
