This. These types talk all big and bad behind a computer screen but stutter and "uhhhh, uhhhh, uhhhhh" when you confront them in person. There's a way to be professional about it and get your point across to him without it being like you're threatening to whip his arse. He will more than likely not want to be that way anymore with you as he will realize you're not going to take his smartass response anymore.

There's a guy I work with who is a Class A prick with most people that he feels out, until you call him out. It's kind of like his fricked up way of an initiation. He's that exact type that you describe. He stops once you call his arse out in person face to face. Then he goes to the next new guy who he feels will just sit there and take it, and will continue to be that way until called out by that person.

IT douches are the most douche of all the douches in the work place.
