I always respond later. Typically my cooler head will prevail and I can respond in a professional manner instead of just torching them with an off the cuff response.

IT people are some of the most condescending and arrogant people out there. My brother is one and I am constantly telling how big of a dick he is being.

It amazes me how often some people in our office need to engage the fricking IT company. I try my best to not have to deal with them and when I do, it’s typically not a pleasant experience.

Send something like this:
“Your response makes it sound as if there is a problem. Should we meet in person to discuss this issue? I’m free Monday morning after 10:45. Please let me know what time is best for you. Have a good weekend.”
He will shut right up 100%. The marketing guy at my company always responds like a dick and this is my standard response. He knows that I know he’s trying to be a dick and he knows he doesn’t want to discuss it in person because he’s a bitch.
